We were 7-17 with Luke after teams figured out in 2018 that Cam had no arm. We had the 31st ranked D with Luke in 2019. Also, come on with the playoff hunt. We were 5-9 going into week 16. Being mathematically alive <> in the playoff hunt. We lost to the Bears so we would have had to finish 9-7 and even then we lose round 1. Luke of 2020 doesn’t win us 4 games.

I loved Luke but he can’t win games by himself. We have been a less than mediocre team for the past 3 years and Luke was healthy for 2 years. The difference was a healthy good QB. Luke in 2020 doesn’t make us a playoff team.

True the team quit on Ron, but Luke was still putting out full effort. I re-watched most of the games, "team-mates" had tuned out Luke too, honestly very sad to witness. Luke on a that young convid defensive with Snow/everyone reacting to his adjustments and tips. For sure they win more and maybe gain momentum that leads to playoffs. Ill die on that hill in believing Luke improves that team and increased their playoff odds.

Yeah, I don’t think it was anything more than he felt he wasn’t done after we let him go. He got another year and realized he was done and got his closure.

He actually had a year in San Diego and was let go there...

...then Rowboat gave threw him a life-preserver...

Not necessarily about Ron, but potentially about the organization.

Granted, our organization wasn't exactly stellar for most of his years here. Given the faith they showed in him though, his opinion might be different.

It may have also just been being the old guy out there in training camp, fighting through the aches and pains to run drills, being the alpha dog he always was but up against hungry players a decade or more his junior and all without the long tenure on a team that cements your place in the pecking order.

And sometimes, it just drives it home that it's time to take in your accomplishments and go enjoy what you've made for yourself. Hope he does!

And good for him.

Stupid rich, Retired at 30, handsome, all the time in the world to dick around with his hobbies.

Killing it.

Good for him.

You missed beautiful young wife who he gets to spend as much time with as he wants while newlywed. Seriously the selfish part of me wants him to take a path towards coaching, but that's an all consuming career choice by all accounts.

Stop and think about it a moment. If you don't get to just relax and enjoy life in Luke's current situation, when do you? The man is living a dream and he earned it. Good for him. Football will always be there if he wants to come back to it. Hunt and fish your heart out young man.
