He won't be a good pick if we don't solve the QB problem while one of the QBs we passed on flourishes. If you don't have a QB you can't compete.

He will be Jalen Ramsey.   You can only bash an uber elite player so hard.

and yes, if we still don’t have a QB….the situation we find ourselves in will be discussed heavily.   Because a great DB doesn’t help lift up a bad or average football team.  Just like Luke and CMC couldn’t.

QB remains the ultimate puzzle piece at this stage. All that really matters.  You have one or you don’t.

I can agree with the positional values, but you cannot say every player we picked was a bad pick because some QB we passed on turns out to be a good qb.

Not necessarily a QB, but a great player at a higher value position. Great RBs and off the ball LBers are routinely taken past the 1st. Just look at Luke and CMC. Bobby Wagner was basically Luke's 1B at MLB and he was the 47th overall pick. In 2017, Dalvin Cook was taken in the 2nd and Alvin Kamara in the 3rd.

Dalvin cook cant stay healthy, other than that great comparisons.

Of course you are talking about 2nd and 3rd round picks which this franchise has historically not valued.

We like picking the slowest safeties or a gadget QB.

There are definitely very good arguments against it.

Recent Super Bowl teams tell the story better than anything else. Look what the Bucs did with a fresh Leonard Fornette in the postseason. Ten million dollars in two running backs and they have their second championship trophy secured. But if you talk about this too loud around here folks get emotional.

They also had a great team already and only needed a QB, but everyone forgets that part.

That's one of the key arguments against RBs in the top 10 IMO. Injuries and overall short shelf life very often play a factor.

I actually think it's gonna be fascinating to watch whether Jones succeeds or fails.

Mind you, I'm more comfortable knowing that particular experiment is happening somewhere other than here.

What are the odds of Jones outperforming Darnold going forward?

Obviously, in your opinion...

(assumes you have one)

Why are we still wasting time talking about a QB that is no longer with the Panthers? Asking for a friend.

Because some people here have no lives, or have terrible lives, and they made themselves feel better by living through the Panthers. Cam gave them a chance to wear a jersey with egotistical pride, thump their chest, brag, and get the attention they so desparately crave. He was their whole world. That's why he's still their avatar. They can't let go of the ONE thing that made their lives meaningful. It's why I constantly pick on them. They need to MOVE ON and learn how to live. I'm actually trying to help them in an odd way.

There are reports from Yahoo Sports and other sources that the Patriots were "blown away" by Mac Jones at their rookie minicamp.

Take it for what it's worth.

Watch him turn out to be the best QB of the draft. lol

You never liked Cam to start with and you were more than happy once he was gone. Some of us still respect the best QB this franchise has ever had, its not his fault our braindead staff ran him into the ground.

Of course he is not the same QB he once was, but he is still better than the poo we trotted out there last season.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
