I too prefer natural grass but the technology in turf has come a long long way.

The Texas Rangers put Shaw Sports Turf in their new stadium about a year ago, interesting video on the technology here:

Superb Owls are more likely to be held in a dome.  Domes have turf.  Thats all the backstory needed.

What events can you have on turf but not grass, honest question...

I’d really like to know, other than cost, how this benefits the players. You’re not in an extreme climate, growing grass should be pretty damn easy.
