Sooo what's the plan for LT?

Yes, because our team.ignores a position. Especially the LT position. 🙄

Wish some of you would just acknowledge that finding a good LT isn't as easy as picking one out of thin air.

No doubt. Yet we continue to not make it a priority or make smart personnel decisions at the position.

You wanted Slater instead of Horn?

Honestly there is a league wide shortage of "real" LT, maybe only 12 in the whole league. Not a big coulda/shoulds guy, but after Beaguals took Chase, shoulda gave a Dolpins 3rd or ____ to guarantee Sewell. He just got convid too. Same for the herbert deal, one pick away for a already elite QB and great odds LT. Shoulda taken a LT with brown pick last year too.....

We'll just be revisiting the same hole we have had since Gross left.

We just don't prioritize it or make smart decisions. It's amazing.

It really is. Have the Panthers ever made the playoffs without decent LT play?

I know they’ve never made it without a top oline.

Yet here we are.

I like Christianson but he played garbage competition and had top oline coaching. And Erving? Really? Lol

It‘ll be patchwork with Scott and the rookie’s learning curve and it will be ugly. Moton at LT seems like blasphemy to this organization for some reason.

I did want Fields or Slater instead of Horn. And, in hindsight, I do think Horn is the safest pick of the three. But LT and QB are higher value positions that we also really had a great need for. I hope that we chose the right horse in that race. It will hurt if we didn't. Sewell going one before us was soul crushing. So close.

I have to believe since we have gone through multiple staffs and not moved Moton over, he just isn't the guy at LT.

I honestly think we won't have a guy that starts more than 8 games at LT. It will be shuffling around to see what works, IMO.

100% okay of any of the guys we are going to attempt prove me wrong. It's a lot easier to discover your coaches/front office are geniuses than find out they are fools.

Little will be cut due to numbers--we added 3 OL (Christensen, Brown, and Moore)  and I think all make the roster.  Since I figure we keep no more than 10 OL (Moton, Paradis, Miller, Elflien, Irving, Daley, and Scott)   Little has no future contract coming, might as well cut him and let him go to Buffalo or Washington.

For some reason that's made me think of "Shuffle off to Buffalo, Barry", which is from one of the all-time great shows, Burn Notice.

That's going to be my go to for every Panther than ends up with the Bills from now on.

Sewell is no guarantee either at OT either.

Similar measurables to Slater.

I feel good about Brown changing your mind on that over the next few years.

Wirfs is already one of the top tackles in the league.  Huge reason they won last year.  Becton and Wills are already settled in and performing highly at LT.  Brown is good but nowhere anywhere close to as valuable as a competent left tackle.

I like the horn pick but feel we are going to regret immensely not picking Slater.  He is an animal.  At some point we are going to have to use a first round pick on a LT.

I can't figure this out could somebody explain to me how a 1 inch difference in arm length can make a player a better or worst LT in the NFL?

As I understand it, it gives the dlineman a fraction of a second advantage to use whatever move he is using and it gives them more momentum due to that advantage. But yeah on the surface its seems silly but apparently its not

If Brady Christensen's arm length was 33", he may have gone in the first round because his tape is so good. I'd say the job is his to lose.

Same arm length as Jordan Gross (and that's been said again and again). It's all about the skill and toughness. I hope he pans out and flashes greatness right away. Otherwise, we're all going to be talking about missed opportunities in the draft.

I think Christensen will be the LT coming out of training camp. His college QB was the #2 overall pick for a number of reasons, and many of those required good pass protection. All of the other candidates we have are either journeymen (at best) or unfulfilled projects at the moment.

It's really his job to lose.
