I love this draft but the trading back and forth drove me crazy. What is truly great is all of the trading upgraded our team and replaced everything we traded for Darnold but the 2nd rounder next year. Would not surprise me if we get that back as well. Filled a lot of holes and showed up depth. Areas we need to work on are FS, LB and more depth.

It was nerve racking.  But it told me that they had done their homework.  They have to know the needs of other teams, where they expect players they like to go, etc.  There is evidence of their analytics in their picks.

Examples: Nixon, Christensen's athleticism.  Shi Smith's skills in a bad offense.  Chuba's high ankle sprain in 2020, Knowing Brown from the SR bowl and knowing that his weight gain could be controlled (character) etc.  They owned this draft--it seems for now.

I am a fan of Tremble, maybe overdrafted a little bit, but this kid is a fierce blocker. He has that "dog" mentality to dominate his opponent. I also believe that Tremble will and can develop into a pass catching threat. He catches the ball with his hands nicely right now, just needs to work on route running. If he can add a little hip drop in/out of cuts watch out for his potential.

Love the late round picks. Shi Smith that late is an A+ in my opinion. This kid will produce from the slot and as a potential punt return option. And oh my, we have a GM that understands adding some beef late in the draft, really love these picks.

As good as CMC has already been in his career, we have added some beef up front with a devastating blocker in Tremble.

On a side note, restaurants in Charlotte have to be excited! Are you kidding me, we just added 2 guards that combine for 700 lbs. and a DT they call "Big Snack"

Heyyyyy I love the optimism that this place generally lacks. This draft did feel like a team effort.

I'm optimistic you will love my lasagna recipe if you give it a chance.

An inability to fill holes and add depth were two of Hurney's biggest shortcomings among many others.

The way Fitterer and Rhule  managed this draft was amazing, and in stark contrast to what Panther fans are used to seeing.

Always seemed that if we lost a somewhat valuable starter for any length of time, that it could sink the ship when Hurney was in the Captains Chair.

This feels....different.  I think I like it.

Shi (6th) was an incredible value especially looking at where Amari Rodgers (3rd) got drafted.

I don’t think they are that far apart as players.

I love where we are now at G, DT, CB, and even TE (Arnold, Tremble).  We have NEVER been this good at WR, and CMC and Chuba could rival the Double Trouble side show from a decade ago.  I feel better about OT, QB, and special teams.

That's a very bold comment about never. If your speaking about depth sure. I mean if your sold on Moore and a now drafted player who hasn't played a down yet. DJ is great But he is no Smitty and Anderson is a different receiver than Moose. I'd rather have Moose. They stand head and shoulders over the 2 we have and maybe with our whole wr room. Oh the old days. Excited to see what this year brings however. Just bold saying NEVER.

Exactly.  The better managed teams seem to be able to lose multiple key players and still win games/make the playoffs.

Hurney's teams lacked the depth needed for the long haul and were one injury away from also ran status.

Hurney era teams lived off the back of superstars and how much they could carry us IMO.

minus maybe the 2003 run.  That was a pretty well built team.  After that we got too reliant on a handful of guys.

It is obvious, Rhule is really good at roster building. Last years draft turned in good results, and shows promise for the future. I thought the 2020 draft was one of our best.

Now we bring in Fitt with Rhule, and I think we knocked this draft out of the park. If this group matches or exceeds the 2020 draft by having a few players produce right away, and a few more show flashes for the future, I can say I believe it would be our best back2back drafts ever.

Other team’s final cuts to 53 will help fill these out.  Still a few FA that might sign a one cap friendly deal.  I’m pretty confident team is not done yet.

A LOT to like about this team.

We won't be drafting this high again for a long time.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
