He turned up to the Senior Bowl at 376lbs. He has to lose another 20lbs for mine.

I was 325 would be a good weight. That's still a lot of beef to sling around but it's an extra 200 lbs of pressure off the knees. I was 375 lbs and I can't even tell you how much easier life was after losing that 50 lbs. Plus he is going to have better access to nutritional info if he chooses to use it.

You guys are sleeping on Tommy Tremble. That man is a monster. His hands are adequate, but the way we use our TE is similar to the 49ers is Their FB, Jucyszk.

He going to giving Mccaffrey all kind of running room, opening up lanes on the edge in the run game. Not only that but as a stalk blocker for our WRs who could house it at any moment.

This gives our athletes on the edges the much needed protection we've been waiting for. He's not a Pro-Bowl Tackle, or a Travis Kelce WR. But he's one of those players who does the dirty work, and loves to do it. And does it Nasty. He's Grimey. And that's exactly the type of player we need at that position even if he Nevers grows outside of a high level blocker.

He may not be great in all aspects, but he's the type of Roll player that makes guys like CMC hall of famers.

This.

It's far easier to coach someone up to be a better receiver than it is to coach them up to be aggressive with an intelligent nasty streak.

Barring an absolute miracle he'll never be an Olson, but he can be a fair to middling pressure release valve that can also plow the road.

I spiraled when we traded down in the 2nd. I spiraled again (really bad) when we traded down again. The Christensen pick saved it for me a little. I thought we’d missed out on the LTs, but I’m happy with the picks. Marshall makes contested catches and he’s fast with good size. This offense a traditional TE is not a priority, so I knew we needed and Hback type. I liked Shi Smith as a late round target for us. Brown=Mauler. Wanted Nixon with our 4th pick in round 4.

The only reason to hate this draft is if you really wanted Fields or Jones...that’s it.

I think Marshall is going to ball out this year. Honestly think he was the 4th best WR behind Chase, Waddle, and D. Smith. Getting a top 25 talent 30 picks later is amazing. Teams are going to have a hard time covering our weapons if they stay healthy.

Nixon is another one I can't believe fell to us in the 5th. Very explosive first step that can shoot the gaps and cause a lot of TFL. Should fill in well beside Brown.

Outside of LB and FS, really liking how good our defense looks.

I think we received good talent. Not sure how that will translates to wins this season.

I'd put the draft around B.

I think we have 1 guaranteed impact player and a few who have a chance to shine.

Marshall is a big talent, but injury history, QB play, and ball distribution between him and the three veterans in Moore, Anderson, and CmC might limit his overall impact.

Chubba has a chance to he a big steal which is a big plus as well.

All in all though I think we added good depth with potential and probably only decisively addressed one of our top needs.

Let's see how it plays out.

Brady's offense isn't about a pass catching TE.

I thought that also until we signed Dan Arnold who is purely a pass catching TE. Our schemes should evolve based on exploitation.

Maybe we're planning on rotating both depending on down. Wish we could combine DA's and Tremble's skillset into the other.

It's silly to put a grade on this draft before you see how many of them make the final roster.  Honestly it will take a full season to have a true sense of what you have in these kids.

I would be interested in comparing the final roster that Rhule inherited from Ron and Hurney verses the one he's been able to assemble with Hurndog.  If you're good enough of a data analyst throw in the final roster going into this season assemble by he and Fittererrrrr...rrr.

I know there's some of you on here that love to crunch numbers so have at.

For bonus points show the cap charge of each player. I bet it would look completely different.

That is your mission should you choose it or some sh*t.

I give it a B-.  Drafting a long snapper and taking a pass blocking TE in the third round are huge negatives for me.  Missing out on safety and center earned some bad marks too.

Day 3 was humming right along until the last two picks.  Almost like they were throw away picks becasue they were ready to close up shop for the afternoon.

Passing on Fields damn near killed me

The rest, they did a good job as they know, or hope they do, what kind of players they want to coach

No matter what we think, or grades we give, this team now has Rhule and Fitterer’s stamp on it    No more Rivera or Hurney

The Ws and Ls are theirs to own

1. Jaycee Horn, CB - Grade A. We were horrible on 3rd down last year. Horn hasn’t been known for INTs, but you don’t complete passes on this guy. I don’t care what people say, we NEEDED him bad.

2. Terrace Marshall Jr., WR - Grade B+. Samuel was huge for us on 3rd downs last year. We got great value for a guy who also played in Brady’s system. Tall with unusual speed for his height.

3a. Brady Christensen, OT - Grade B. I don’t think our line was as bad last year as many claim, but we definitely needed an upgrade. Many people watching tape of Zach Wilson said this guy stood out. Didn’t allow a sack if I’m not mistaken.

3b. Tommy Tremble, TE/HB - Grade B-. We were terrible last year in the red zone and our TEs were nonexistent. It has been mentioned he wasn’t a pass catching TE. From his presser I gathered he wasn’t asked to do that. That doesn’t mean he can’t. Also, Manhertz needed replacing. Not to mention, dude is a willing and violent blocker. Could we have gotten him later? Maybe, but it’s possible we could have missed out. If you can’t tell, l am very optimistic about this one.

4. Chuba Hubbard, RB - Grade A. This dude has another gear. He is patient at finding his lane, but doesn’t dance too much. When he does find the lane, the pedal touches the floor quick. Smooth cuts and change of direction. It’s gonna be tough to run this guy down.

5a. Daviyon Nixon, DT - Grade A+. This deserves an A+ on value alone. We needed someone with the ability to slip thru and get to the ball. Can’t let 3rd and long keep getting converted. His pick 6 shows you his athleticism is incredible. You know his versatility was a plus for this defensive philosophy. I see him being able to be used on the line in a number of ways.

5b. Keith Taylor, CB - Grade B-. Both corners remind me of a Sherman or Bradberry. I don’t hate the pick, it would be a B+ if he was to be used as a safety, but Rhule said they see him as a CB. That room is getting crowded. Maybe he takes over for Jackson next year. But for this year, prob looking at good depth. Not something I should complain about with our 7th pick in the draft tho right?

6a. Deonte Brown, OG - Grade B. Love this pick, I would have chosen him earlier. Seen a meme comparing his build to a Blastoise. He is massive. I’m sure the staff seen something they were excited about at the senior bowl. This could be our new starting guard.

6b. Shi Smith, WR - Grade A-. Love this pick! Would be higher if we didn’t already pick Terrace. Replaces Samuel’s gadget production and possible return guy. Will have more of a role next year probably. Great value. The thought of CMC, Chuba, DJ, and Shi on the field at the same time is interesting.

6c. Thomas Fletcher, LS - Grade A-. Screamed at my phone when they picked him over G Dave Moore. Then they signed Dave as an UDFA, I guess they know more than me. Undervalued position until bad things happen.

7. Phil Hoskins, DT - Grade B+. Won SEC defensive player of the week in December. Had a tackle for loss ON 3rd DOWN that forced a FG. Yeah we have a problem there. Hope he can help, has potential. Good value for a very late pick.

Overall Grade: A+
We pretty much covered every need except for maybe S. Almost doubled our picks and came away with multiple offensive weapons and some dawgs on defense.

MASTERFUL!!!

    • I know most of this place doesn't favor Bryce, so I'm preaching to the choir. Also - screw the Broncos and Peyton.   Okay, with that being said... Seeing what Nix has done this season is something we should all tune into.  Why?  His first two games were, well bad would be putting it lightly.  He looked in over his head, pro-level shocked, you could see the anxiousness.  He needed to settle down in the pocket and adjust to the game.  And you know what? He did just that.     And as the season has progressed, he has got better and better each week. All this through OL injuries and weapons like Sutton, Vele (who?), Lil'Jordan Humphrey (who?) & Mims, he has managed to ascend and bring himself into ROTY contention over Jayden Daniels & Brock Bowers.   And he's making advanced throws, layering in the second level, put them in position to beat KC the other week until the ST unit lost it. The short version of my point - Bryce's recent "progression" is relative.  This is the type of progression you would like to see as a season goes on and a kid gets adjusted to the pace of the NFL. Bo Nix Notable 2024 Stats (Through 11 games): 19 TDs (14 pass, 4 rush, 1 rec), 6 INTs, 2,275 pass yards, 295 rushing, 65.5% comp, 6.4 YPA Last 5 games: 10 TD, 1 INT, 1,193 pass yards, 115 rushing, 70.6% comp, 7.4 YPA
    • In theory, that has ready happened. That guy has more lives with this organization than a bushel of cats, however. I want to believe we finally move on. I really want to believe.
