Looking Back to Predict the Future

Carolina's 2020 Draft, was all defense.  Every single pick.  I am sure this was not Hurneys idea.  I believe Rhule had a plan to try and fix 1 side of the ball with that draft.  They will do the same or close to the same this year.  With the exception of maybe a cb, look for Carolina to go all in on offense or Joe Brady will start trying on different team hats to see how they look.

Don't be surprised if they draft CB, S, IDL, and LB in this draft, along with a couple of OL.

I don’t see us going all offfense with all of the expiring contracts coming up on defense. This is going to be a balanced draft for us. The question is .... do we have extra picks this year from trading back?

I'm betting it's going to be at least 5 picks offense, heavy on the line. We may see a safety in the fourth.

I'm feeling a relatively balanced draft. The needs aren't as one sided this year IMO. 

Hopefully we finally have a GM and Coach who care about the offensive line.

Ehh, does the offense really need fixing like the D did last year? I don't think so. Main pieces we're missing are LT and QB (obviously hugely important pieces) but those aren't positions you just force in the draft, especially after the Darnold trade too. I think it'll be a decent mix this year, it still makes sense to bolster the D in my view.

Last year Rhule and Co. selected starters with their first three picks. I don't believe last year was an aberration. I think this team puts in the work pre-draft and will get value with all of their picks. I'm interested at who they'd invest in at 8, but also what they might be able to get with a trade down and more picks. I think if they trade down it's for picks this year vs. trying to recoup the ones they've committed next year, time value of money(picks) and all.

We can bolster the line in the first 2 rounds.  Go LT 1rst, then hopefully a 2nd tier guy is there in the second (Humprhies, Jenkins, whoever) and put him at guard.  You can completely fix the line if you get a center in the 3rd or 4rth.  Boom, done.

All defense with Teddy ( a new QB to us) makes sense. 

All offense on Darnold ( a new QB to us) does NOT make sense. 

If Darnold can not be even decent with the best RB in the game currently, and 2 1000+ yard WR all handed to him the problem is not the draft.
