If only they had remembered to do their jobs and look at him! They really need to write that down in their agendas. "Remember to look at the QB whose name is on the program! Do not trade for someone else's QB who is their to look at QB whose name is on the program!!! 

That way they wouldn't do anything stupid.

I think if they wanted Fields they would’ve moved up already. Picking Fields or any QB at #8 would make no sense at this point. The offensive line has been a glaring weakness for over a decade and that should be the focus.

Here is a great example. We viewed Teddy as a starter and gave him a solid contract showing our confidence in him. They have stated if Herbert fell to them he would have been the pick. Imagine if he did fall and we didn’t draft him because we had a potential starter in Teddy and too many needs in other areas...

I think they add up to the value of our third round pick this year, if I'm not mistaken.

Could this just be the Panthers bluffing to get teams from behind them to trade up into Carolina's spot? Possibly. It's all a game of unknowns right now and one that we likely won't know the answer to until draft night. 

I agree, it would be asinine to pick a guy who wouldn’t start day one with the 8th pick. I’d be shocked if we didn’t take bpa of either OL, DB or trade down.

So you would have passed on Herbert last year if he dropped to us since we had Teddy? He didn’t start over Taylor day one for SD. Mahomes was pick 11 and didn’t start day one.

I'd honestly be incredibly tempted to take Fields if he was there at #8. For this very reason.

Fields would be a great pick, as Teddy could mentor him for the next 2-3 years as Favre did with Rodgers. At that point Teddy will be just over 30, and if he is still going strong Fields could be prime trade bait.

He's as much of a risk for much less cost.

I think he'll be better than Wilson or Lance or Jones. And I think that if he's there, we should take him, unless Sewell is there.  If Sewell is there you turn in the card with 9:59 left.

No if Fields is there you take him period. Should have traded up to get him. We’re going to look back at Fields as a huge mistake. Sewell ain’t going to matter when you have bums throwing the ball. Just going to be a guy that leaves in 5 years or you have to tag. Teddy wasn’t it and I told y’all that when the move was made. Same way I’m screaming Darnold ain’t it. The answers are right there in our damn faces.

Moved up to where? Why move up if he may not be there? He should be going in the top 4 and SF gave up a boatload to get to 3.
