Robby Anderson on Darnolds and the Jets FO

Here are some tweets that summarize Robby Andersons thoughts on the Darnold Jets Saga.

Based on all of the evidence we have to support his lack of development with the Jets and given his age, I dont see how people can just declare him a bust already after only three years.

I'm excited to see what the guy can do with competent supporting staff.

not many people with more insight in this situation than Robby.

Robby said he was "definitely not expecting" Darnold in Carolina. How do you not talk to the one guy on your team most familiar with Darnold before pulling the trigger on the trade? If they did talk to Robby, why would Robby said he wasn't expecting it?

When Robbie pretty much comes out and agrees that Darnold got no support or development on the Jets, I find it very hard to take arguments about his potential seriously if you don't think he's capable of fixing his mistakes.

Earn it!

I suspect that he had his guy last year, and couldn't quite make it work. Now he has Rhule's guy, and what he does with Sam will go a long way towards determining if any one of them is really worth a damn.

Are coaches allowed to talk football with players right now?

Part of the smokescreen?   Players know to stay out of it.

Non-sequitur.  “Definitely not expecting” does not mean that it was not discussed.

Alternate possible interpretation:  If it was discussed, Robby is indicating that he didn’t think the Panthers would be successful in obtaining Darnold... or that he was told that the effort would likely not be successful.

The paucity of details gives no more weight to one interpretation or the other.

This was from 6 days ago. Robby talks about Gase/Bowles, the Jets overall not caring, CULTURE, Rhule and a lot more.

This interview becomes a lot more relevant to us now that we have Darnold.

This interview probably deserves its own thread tbh. Robby says he hopes he’s a Panther for life

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
