Confirm that he’s booty. To everyone crying he had no OL - “Over the past three seasons Darnold has ranked 34th of 38, 21st of 37, and 28th of 38 in on-target percentage from a clean pocket”

29th in deep ball accuracy last year- teddy was 28. 
 

if we wanted an early qb who never lived up to his potential, mariota would’ve been cheaper and was never this atrocious.

Well, I never wanted Darnold, but there are lots of elements that contribute to player performance (at any position). New environment often equates to a different player, for better or worse. The fan in me will hope it's the former.

Yep confirmed he sucks based on 9% of his throws last year (assuming no overlap between the two). Give me break.

Its a gamble. He may do better here with more weapons. If he doesnt, we didnt sell the farm to get him. If the Watson situation gets cleared up, we might wiggle our way back into to that.

Here is what people do not get-

QBs have an internal clock.  They get hit (or hurried) at 3.4 seconds after the snap (making this up) 76% of the time.  Darnold is hit or hurried 88% of the time at 3.1  seconds.  Mentally, do you think he is in the same place as a Drew Brees or a Dak Prescott--teams known for their OL play? 

The threat of pressure can be as real as the pressure itself-human nature.  It is called "defense mode" and the amygdala in the brain sends a signal to the hippocampus, shutting normal functioning down and sending the brain into "fight, flight, or freeze" (defense) mode.  Ever get really rattled when you were ALMOST in a car accident?  Same thing.

Jesus - that stat right there is far more telling about the Jets than anything Darnold did or did not do.  Over 14 games he only had a clean pocket for 23 throws?!?!  YIKES!  Hopefully Sam is not permanently seeing ghosts now, ala David Carr.

When we you get hit so much and have no confidence in your O Line and clean pocket probably doesn't mean as much.

He misread that graphic. 23 deep throws (21+ yards). Not total attempts from a clean pocket (though that number is likely below average as well)
