Panthers trade for Sam Darnold

Grand scheme of things a 2nd isn't much ti give up IF he can play. You'd better hope his lack of production is because of coaching/lack of skill players. Worst case scenario he sucks and we're picking high again next year minus a second rounder

We traded a 2nd round pick for Sam Darnold. There are MUCH worse options out there, including trading 3 first round picks for Deshaun Watson. Best Case Scenario? Darnold balls out with DJ, CMC and Robby Anderson (who played with Darnold and played well) under Joe Brady and our Defense continues to improve leaving us with a post season contender. Worse case? Darnold leads us to the #1 pick next year.

No we'll see how good of a offensive guru Brady is.  Darnold is probably the same risk as any of the QBs in the draft not named Trevor Lawrence.

Question is now if a trade down is in the cards to make up for the overcompensation or if we decide to finally get an LT in Slater or Sewell.

But now we can trade back and get a 2nd rounder in 2021 or 2022.  If so, this cost us a fourth and a comp pick.

Go look at the Jets fans' responses on Twitter. NONE of them are bashing Darnold; almost all of them think his talent was squandered by Gase and that he excels with a change of scenery.

at least now we have hope at QB...it is possible the Jets ruined his career until now.  Don't like the 2nd, but worth a flyer considering our situation.  BPA and let's build.
