Joe Person: Panthers don't love other QB's besides Lawrence and Wilson

A shorter QB has to see around guys to see passing lanes. A taller guy has that vantage point and the one above the line.

That's why guys like Cam and Luck could just fire these downward passes from a high release point.

I feel like you were frozen in time about 20-25 years ago.

Are some folks really pretending that the 2010 season was a purposeful tank job by the team to secure the #1 overall pick after spending their first pick on a QB in 2009?

They do remember the CBA negotiations, lockout, and JR being more concerned with his wallet than anything else... right?

I used to enjoy your posts but your inability to reconcile with the fact you were wrong about Bridgewater after months of going to bat has sent you over the edge and now you are bitter in every thread. Find a way to rappel yourself back up to reality soon.

I was the biggest proponent of taking Mahomes you'll find - when every other Panthers fan was swooning over the broken down QB we had under contract.

That dude screamed generational talent.

Nice try though.

The Panthers loved Bridgewater and here we are

I don't think you could say they "loved" him. Liked, perhaps.

The contract they gave him was basically a "bridge" to "maybe" deal, though granted Marty probably overinflated it (not exactly a shock).

Signing a veteran QB familiar with a new offense + staff during a restricted offseason to a team-friendly deal where he is never paid as a top half QB in the NFL is a good thing.

Worst case scenario was that he declined (which he did) but the deal still allowed the team to wait on a QB while it addressed other areas of need (which, as we saw with Houston netting 4 wins this season despite Deshaun at QB, wasn't necessarily a bad thing). At worst, he'd start for one more (a.k.a. this) season and we'd have a more complete team to install a rookie or other veteran.

Or maybe even package together some picks to move up and get that franchise passer.

But hey, good on you for having to make a new account this month? 👀
