Yeah 3 is a no go for an unknown rookie for me too. I would like to hold on to our second for a LT also. Something like 1st, 3rd, 2022 1st, 2022 5th. I mean we are only moving up 5 spots.

This looks like close to the price to get to 3, IMO. Maybe next year's pick ends up a 3rd instead of the fifth, but this seems like the cost it would take to swap with MIA.

Whatever we do, we have to hold onto our 2nd round pick this year. We shouldn't be drafting this high for awhile and that 2nd round pick will allow us to add a LT or CB1. One more offseason with much more cap space and no reason we don't win the NFC South in 2022.

Watson was obviously the #1 option in my mind, and the most exciting...  but, according to Verge, and what common sense would dictate, that is out the window unless it comes to a swift resolution in revealing his innocence before the draft.  I dont anticipate it will, and thus, I agree in moving on, and ultimately, although I was all in on Watson, the optimistic side of me is thankful we won't have to give up 3 or 4 first rounders plus possible young stars for our guy.

For me, it's Lance or Fields.  Period.  If we have to move up, we have to move up - and I think we will have to move up.

The only way we're getting #4 from a division rivals is if they feel like they're absolutely fleecing us. It would probably take an RG3 type trade.

I figured it would still be cheaper than moving to 3rd spot.  Don’t want to deal with Atl but there is mutual benefit to making this work for us and them.

#8, this year's 4th, 2022 1st, 2024 1st

Get Miami's 6R in return along w/#3

Honestly, I’d go for this if we have a specific QB we really want and have faith in.  It’s really only 2 first rounders, since we’d still have a first round pick this year.  Just swapping them.  Plus, it’d skip 2023 which would ease the blow and allow us to draft top talent in between 2022 and 2024.  Unfortunately, I think it’ll take more than this.  Trading up is going to be hot this year.

but then again, I really want Trey Lance.  He’s gonna be special.  Trading up to 3 is steep but I don’t think ATL will trade with us or that Cinci will trade down from 5.  They need OL help like no ones business and will pounce on Sewell.   Maybe moving up to 6 with Philly is our best bet to not give up the farm.  I have a feeling they’ll go WR, they are so barren at that position and there’s a ton of talent there at 8.

Drafting Trask earlier than the 4th would be a reach. Trading back into the 1st to draft him probably gets you fired before the 2nd round starts.

Trask has better stats and measurables than anybody your talking about. Where are their stats? Where are their measurables? What conference did they play in?

You're caught in the hype. My analysis is performance based.

Also, Kyle Pitts is a generational talent. I'll bet on that. With good health you have a #1/#2 receiver for years to come.

C'mon man!

Measurables? LOL! Trask has a noodle arm and concrete blocks for feet.

I'm talking about playing football. He beat your guy in actual yards and actual touchdowns in a REAL conference against the best competition two years in a row at a high level.

If a noodle arm gets you 4300yrds 43TDS and only 8INTS against arguably the best competition in college football most QBs would take that. 6'5" 240lbs. Country strong. Football IQ. Great mechanics. Hard worker. Student of the game. Throws with touch.

You caught in the hype bro. Trask is real.

No you weren't. You specifically tried to talk about "measurables". His lack of measurables is why a great college QB is going to end up being a mid-round pick.

STATS. What you've accomplished as QB.

That's all that matters. The worst teams pick first for a reason. They get caught in the hype and pick the wrong players like you.

Great college QB. 100%. Zero argument. Not a great NFL prospect. There's a big difference. You're caught up in your feels because he plays for your favorite college team.

Literally no legitimate QB evaluator likes him as anything more than a clipboard holder in the NFL.

I really want to like Trask, mainly because he's improved immeasurably in college, but he isn't the guy to hitch your wagon to.
