Go on record. Who still wants Watson?

I made zero "expectations" for people who allege sexual assault.

They should do what ever they feel is the right thing to do and or what ever they are comfortable with doing.

Pretty simple.

If you are sexually assaulted you need to report it to police right away if you care about or want to maximize the chance of getting justice.

If you wait it's going to be much harder to prove and people will be less likely to believe you.

And please don't first file civil suits. Looks like a money grab. Go to police first. Then you can go the civil route.

I think it is a perfectly reasonable stance to question this attorney and discuss the red flags he brings to the table..... and have that be something completely separate from the allegations.   It doesn't make the allegations false.  But Buzbee remains a giant red flag.

If these allegations are real.  Which they may be.  You really kinda wish they had someone else representing them IMO.  Buzbee is the type slimeball so fixated on himself that he likely could be harmful in a legit case.

I’ve thought a lot about this. The only thing I can think of why the women wanted someone like him is he takes the spotlight off them. I can understand how some women who are traumatized by sexual assault would absolutely not want to be in the spotlight in a high profile case like this. And buzbee has certainly done that. But yeah at the same time he’s harming this case with his theatrics and baggage.

All I know is this whole thing is a mess.

It's possible that nobody gets any justice out of this.

The women, if allegations are true , may not get any apologies, settlements, criminal proceedings.

DeShaun, if innocent, has already had his name completely ruined and potentially lost tens of millions in future revenue.

This lawyer has ruined it for both parties by arguing his cases in the court of public opinion and Instagram.  Most unprofessional poo I've ever seen.

Quote

"I am not saying in any way that Deshaun Watson’s lawyer, Mr. (Rusty) Hardin, has a son who has a position that would compromise HPD and its investigation," Buzbee wrote, while also mentioning his failed 2019 mayoral bid in which he called for the resignation of the then-police chief of Houston. "I support his service, along with all Houston police officers - I think the rank-and-file know that.

"But, I am saying that me and my clients will go elsewhere to provide our evidence to investigative authorities. Stand by."

Thomas Hardin serves as a commander in the Special Operations Division for the Houston Police Department.

Take it as you will. Seems like bullshit carnival games to me on Buzbee's part, which is a shame since they don't need anymore of his dog & pony shows.

I will say though, if somebody believed this was a conspiracy by the McNair family because Buzbee lives in their neighborhood, then they're going to have to keep consistent and give Hardin's son being a part of the HPD that same energy.

Buzbee seems to be centering himself in this case and it is disturbing and frustrating given the importance and magnitude of the accusations against Watson.  The last line of his statement about seeking other law enforcement is very peculiar.

Yeah from the jump the primary theme from him seems to be hey, look at me.  I’m Buzbee.   And I’m doing all this.

now the Houston PD is some miniature deep state that can’t be trusted.  largely because he is Tony Buzbee.  But stay tuned and Tony will tell you who can be.

the women should break from him or at least have a segment that go elsewhere as a group.   High odds he is going to be the reason Watson gets off.  Team Watson is going to have decent odds of sinking the groups credibly simply after Buzbee does something predictably dumb.    Which is a lose/lose for actual justice. A lose for the women if the vast majority are legit.  Buzbee taints them.  A lose for Watson if it really was bogus as people will just assume he got off because of the lawyer.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is if Watson is in trouble with the NFL, or legally with these cases.

As long as that is unknown he's untouchable, and the volume of accusations means he's likely to miss a few games this upcoming season or in the future.

It doesn't matter how sleazy lawyers are.

So now they’re not sending info to the police? So not only did this dude forge text messages during his mayor run but he sent out anti trans mailers. Dude is a slime ball, giant piece of poo. These women need different representation because this dude is a liar and is muddying this all up.

From the statement:

I am saying that me and my clients will go elsewhere to provide our evidence to investigative authorities.

So the statement isn't "we're not going to the police". It's "we're not going to the Houston Police Department".

What's the alternative? State police, I suppose.

These women really need a different lawyer.. Buzbee is making it extremely hard to believe any of this

The SI accuser does have a different lawyer, but hasn't decided whether she's going to file a lawsuit yet. I suppose it's possible others may choose to change lawyers at some point (don't know enough about the legal process to know what that entails).

As to why they chose a guy who's making a circus of it? The only thought I had on that is that a more sober, reserved lawyer might not have wanted to take a case so high profile and complicated whereas a lawyer that's full of sh-t will charge the gates of Hell with a water pistol.

We’ll see. This guy has said things publicly and retracted a handful of times already.

Because they didn’t choose him. He chose them.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
