Per Adam Schefter, “In speaking to some teams, I don’t think this is going to deter anyone’s interest in trading for Deshaun Watson”

Revenge flicks? really? I have to get away. Too many SJWs around here. Welcome to 2021.

Pretty sure nobody's gonna call me an SJW 😄

What I am is somebody who's known real women that have been in this situation. And sad to say this included women that I loved.

The reality is it's nowhere near as simple as we would like it to be.

He's looked bad all on his own accord the past two months. Now the guy who did it is getting trashed in the media. And he's neighbors with the lawyer representing the women, with a history of faking texts.

Some of yall wanna believe DW is guilty when there's a motive for McNair to try and trash him, along with weird coincidences that force you to ask that question. McNair is as suspect as anyone

He wouldnt tank his value out of spite and potentially losing his team.  Jesus Christ dude ease off the meth

I mean they did trade one of the best WRs in football and a 4th rounder for an RB, so.... everyone in that organization might be on meth.

That isn't unusual.  Again, victims of sexual assault typically don't want it to be known by a lot of people.  That is why it takes them so long to report.  It is also why it is false whenever someone suggests that lying about rape or sexual assault is something that happens a lot.  It is not something that happens a lot.  Studies suggest it happens about 2%-10% of the time, and even that number could be inflated because of the amount of rape accusations that are deemed as false simply due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

I want to reiterate that I am not saying Watson is guilty and I am not making any matter of fact statements in regard to innocent or guilt.  But I want people to be held accountable for their opinion and immediately accusing the potential victims of BSing or lying helps contribute to a very toxic culture.  We need to step-back and wait it out.  There are a lot of reasons why a side would want to reach a settlement before taking it to civil court.

And that is also why it isn't as simple as, "well, if Watson is guilty, why didn't he take the settlement?"  You could just as easily as, "why did Watson do it in the first place?"  Watson, if the allegations are true, probably does not view his behavior as being bad.  Much like most offenders.

Asking for 100k from someone that makes millions I’m sorry that is not common. If this happened they knew who in the hell he was. 100k lol yeah ok, sorry but we’re going to disagree on this all day

How is seeking a settlement before going to court and/or making the lawsuit public not common?

Technically, we only have Watson's word that this happened. So unless he's got actual evidence, this is just as much hearsay as the statements made by the womens' attorney.

Can you absolutely guarantee that Watson is telling the truth?

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
