Zach Wilson’s March 26th Pro Day

Zach Wilson is the real deal.  I personally think he has an extremely high floor.  He is gonna be a solid QB. The question for me is how great can he be.  But I see a lot of Tony Romo in his game.  A playmaker at the QB position who can make throws on nearly every platform.

I think people are overthinking it with him.  Yeah he played at BYU but focus less on that and focus just on the accuracy, the footwork, the arm strength, the mobility.  Tight coverage is tight coverage and Wilson could needle it in there consistently.  Jets would be fools to pass up on him, and I'd be ecstatic if we traded up for him.

With that said I love Justin Fields too.  Very similar to Deshaun Watson.  I'd love them both, and I could see any of the big three (Wilson, Fields, Lawrence) being the best QB in the draft although Lawrence is obviously the safest bet.  After that, count me out.  Those are the only 3 guys worth taking in the 1st.  Lance is just too raw.  Jones' ceiling, I just don't know with him.  I like him more than Lance though.  Please for the love of all things holy do not draft Trey Lance in the 1st round.  I'd rather stick with Teddy.

Dan Patrick said there is a fringe tram who's definitely going to try and move up. I'm guessing that means just outside the top 10.

Bears, 49ers, WFT, Broncos and thats just top of my head.

Plenty of other QB needy teams that may not have the capital for 2 - Saints, Steelers, Patriots

And of course Houston pending the Watson stuff.

Guess we figured out the fringe team. 3 first rounders for moving up 9 spot, holy hell.

Wow.  Just watched his pro day.

Trey Lance might have MARGINALLY better overall arm strength, but Zach Wilson clearly has the best overall arm TALENT in this draft.  I am no longer convinced that Lawrence is the best QB in this class.  The difference between TL and ZW is not nearly what I thought it was.

for those in the hand size = success category

Joe borrow had a whole thing about his hand size last year and he was by far the best quarterback in his draft class before the bengals incompetence gave him a backyard knee replacement

He just screams bust, I’m sorry and already had shoulder injury. Not good at all

Lol ok bub, Wilson is probably the most talented qb in this draft. Just got off work so I’m saying that without watching him throw today

OK, Huddle friends, I can't lie; Zach Wilson was impressive! If he can get a good bill of health (and hopefully stay healthy), his floor seems mighty high, and his ceiling even higher of course. He damned sure has my approval FWIW, and I can usually spot "it", and Wilson has it!

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
