His trade value and options just dropped. If there’s anything Tepper knows is how to buy on the dip. These charges will be dismissed

OP should clarify this is a civil lawsuit, not criminal which makes it seem more like a money grab.

Wow, this reeks. The timing, the lawyer and the connections. If this turns out to be what it looks like, can anything splash back on McNair?

Maybe Watson has some issues and that deserves space to develope, it just reeks of BS and more terribleness out of Houston.

The rumor is this guy and McNair are neighbors and friends.

I saw this last night and declined to post on it due to no substantiation whatsoever. It just flies in the face of everything that I've read about Watson, and the timing is suspiciosly right on time by a questionable character who apparently has a relationship with an owner with suspect character. I'd bet that there's nothing to this at the end of the day.

it's not just rumor. Buzbee was Bob McNair's neighbor.

Kinda raises the question why the offered settlement was only 6 figures. If you're trying to shakedown Watson, you'd think you'd go for a little higher number.

If it turns out that this was a coordinated smear.....woo lad

If that is the case he should be barred from the league and forced to sell.

the Texans forum is a mess. Some posts saying cal set this up, some saying deshaun himself set this up as far as his comments about “extreme measures” to get out of HOU, others saying deshaun definitely did it because he hung out with a pornstar that one time (wut). This is ugly.

False accusers need to get punishment as well in my opinion.  Even if it's eventually proven that the accused did nothing wrong the whirling poo storm caused by those types of accusations doesn't just poof into non-existence .

It’s a slippery slope. Then you get victims afraid they will lose the case and remain silent or worse get out lawyered by a rich person and get punishment as well as the assault that happened...

    • So they kept them at their normal?
    • Canes controlled every aspect of the game against Tampa Bay Friday night. Of course, it was the Canes A team mostly against TB's "depth" squad, as they put it. Kochetkov played well in net, he didn't have to make that many saves as TB's shots on goal totaled 17. One concern I have is Orlov. He wasn't good last night again- a trend during the preseason. He misplayed a couple pucks resulting in turnovers and wasn't able to stop outlet passes up the boards on at least 5 plays I saw. Maybe that's why he's playing in almost every preseason game because RBA has figured out it takes time for him to find his game. Slavin and Burns- exactly what you'd expect. And Burns was surprisingly physical last night. Although credited with 1 hit, he was a physical presence on both ends. The vets all played well- Staal, Aho was active, I had to look for Martinook a couple times, although he made a helluva play to save a goal when Kochetkov got caught out of the net. I also thought the Canes passed up a lot of shot opportunities trying to make the extra pass. And you know that won't sit well with RBA. Get pucks to the net- his mantra.
