Google as a phone company?

Google has bought Gizmo5, an online phone company that is akin to Skype but based on open protocols and with a lot fewer users. TechCrunch, which broke the news on Monday, reported that Google spent $30 million on the company.

I heard Google was also in talks to buy South America, Eastern Europe and possibly the island on Tonga.

I swear they will take over the world one day and we will all be called Googlites or Googlecans.

This has been on the cards for awhile, AT&T's been throwing their crap at Google for a bit and it seems like they may have poked the wrong bear this time.
