Fabbro Getting a Hearing Today

Dante Fabbro will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday.

The Nashville Predators defenseman is facing discipline for elbowing Carolina Hurricanes forward Brock McGinn.

The incident occurred 13:44 into the second period of Nashville's 3-2 overtime loss at PNC Arena on Tuesday. Fabbro received a minor penalty for elbowing at 13:47. McGinn finished the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: elbowing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon.

He should be missing a few games for that one.

Glad they are dealing with it today so if he does take a suspension it will hopefully apply tomorrow.

2 games. NHL doesn't say when it starts, but they're usually immediate.

I don't even like calling hits like that dirty.

When I think of dirty players, I see a guy like Marchand. Someone who pushes the boundaries to try to get into your head. That trip by Pesce was a dirty play. But, I don't think he was intentionally trying to injure the guy. 

Hits like Fabbro's shouldn't be a part of the sport.

Which is pretty crazy because I’m pretty sure that means they only have 1 NHL starter on their defensive line.

Not sure what prior history has to do with the fact that he tried to take McGinns head off like he was a Rock 'em, Sock 'em robot.

Yep, theoretically his next would be 4 games, then 7+ after a third.  My understanding is that the penalty doubles, although not sure if that is the fine or the game sussy.
