CMC and Shaq restructured

So when New Orleans restructures contracts to fit under the cap they have a genius at work, but when the Panthers do it they are blooming idiots? Can't have it both ways.  BTW do you think these contracts anticipated the drop in revenue from Covid 19 and are a 1 time correction or a harbinger of the future??

One team was extending there “window” with a HOF QB and a very good shot at a SB. The other “pissed” away 80M and comp picks to make a poor roster capable of winning 5 games. Context means everything. Different situations mean different decisions. But make up whatever you want or need to.

Mickey Loomis is 178-126 as an NFL GM. The Panthers are 200-215-1 as a franchise. One gets the benefit of the doubt due to success while the other has a lot to prove.

Mentioned in the other thread: Fitterer seemed to indicate that there were additional restructures we haven't heard about yet.

He also said though that he's not a big fan of restructuring and he recognizes the kind of problems it can lead to down the road. They're really only doing it now because of this year's unique circumstances.

It's a critical error to restructure Shaq. Restructuring a player who should be being released is peak Hurney. It's as if he never left.

While I agree, this defense was already really, really, really bad last year.  There aren't really many guys out there that could replace him and be an upgrade.

Anyone mad at Shaq for signing his contract simply isn't very intelligent. Same for Teddy. Both guys proved to be exactly what they had shown to be in the past. Anyone disappointed about their play after they got paid wasn't paying attention to their play before they got paid. The only thing that changed was their pay check and their cap hit.

I would say that Shaq played better with Luke, so that person is not exactly who he is. I thought he'd play better, but I wouldn't have paid him that amount because it was always a guessing game with him. I wouldn't have paid Teddy that either, or at least if I felt inclined I certainly would have had an out if he didn't get it done. He should've gotten a prove-it deal, and if he wouldn't have signed, I guess he would've been a Bear. Marty's contracts were eye-raising too many times. I'm hoping for better under Fit.
