so he will make $42m in 2021 when the cap is at $180m?  Dak needs to break the huddle by chanting, "Block, rookies!"

Dak’s 2021 cap hit is likely $22.2M ($15M less than his tag)

With two void years added, the Cowboys appear to be using a signing & option bonus

He is making 75 million his first year

At its max, 164 million dollars. He gets 126 million guaranteed. So regardless of what happens, Dak is clearly going to get paid — 66 million dollars at a signing bonus, 75 million in Year 1. I mean, this is really — for the Cowboys and Dak Prescott, this is what they've been waiting for.

Everyone knew they were going to overpay. I was saying that when people were talking about us acquiring him.

Indeed , He got paid and got it his way

Dak Prescott's contract reportedly has a no-trade and no-tag clause; with the Cowboys planning to tag him Tuesday for procedural reasons, it will be virtually impossible for the Cowboys or anyone else to franchise-tag him again.

Last year the #Cowboys wanted
- 5+ years
- $33M per year
- $105M guaranteed

This year Dak got...
- 4 years (more control)
- $40M per year
- $126M guaranteed

Its a stupid number for a fringe top 10 QB. Its not like he was dragging Dallas to the playoffs every year. I am glad Dallas locked him up and there is no threat of us looking into him.

The deal includes $66 million to sign and $75 million in year one, the most in NFL history.

    • No one is arguing where we were on the season.  After the benching Bryce was one of the top deep ball passers in the league.  It's a skillset he has just shown he is capable of doing.  I believe he led the league in week 12 and was one of the top ones for that final quarter.  Dance around the topic and argue the stats all you want, I'm just going by what I saw on TV and read about.   https://x.com/PattonAnalytics/status/1877044086709854343 https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/bryce-young-best-against-pressure-throwing-deep Hey it surprised me as well, but I'm not going to hide my head in the sand and try to ignore what is clearly right in front of me.  People have a hard time admitting their original thought may have been wrong.  That's just the world we live in.  We will see if Young can keep it up next year or not, but signs are point to DC running his offense regardless of who is QB.
    • You are right, but as of late there has been more rookie TEs making immediate impact on teams. McBride, Laporta, Kincaid and obv Bowers.  My true opinion is the team has so many holes they can go multiple directions including Safety. So it just comes down to out of all the talent in the draft who will make the immediate impact. Wr? TE? LB?
    • McShay says Shedeur would be QB6/QB7 in last year's draft and while there is a lingering whispers about Sanders to the Giants at #3 that just won't go away, chances are he drops all the way to the 2nd round...past the Saints and even past the Steelers at #21.  Dart might even end up QB2 by the time it's all said and done.
