Trade with Dolphins to get Watson?

I think most of us agree that if the Texans decide to trade Watson they would like it to be with the Jets or Dolphins so they would have a chance at one of the top 3 QBs in the draft, but we actually seem like the team most likely to go “all in”.

Unfortunately I don’t think Teddy solves their QB dilemma but what if we trade with Miami, let’s say the 8th pick plus CMC for the third pick.  Then we package the 3rd pick plus next years first, plus a few 2nds, plus a few young players for Watson.

I know that is a lot to give up for one player, but it’s starting to really feel like we are going to do anything we can to make this happen.

if anything we could make the trade with Miami and even if we don’t trade again for Watson we would be in better position to take a QB on the draft.

OR and hear me out... we trade with Miami and then trade with the Jets and then trade with the Niners to trade with the Texans, but this is where it gets good! We trade with the Texans, not for Watson, but for another player or draft pick to gain their trust....  THEN we trade for Watson! Boom! They should have made me GM I swear.

I really like Watson. I would love to see him in a Panther uniform. But I don't want to trade the whole damn farm for him. I'm thinking now to just bit the bullet and let it ride where we are. I don't want to give away 4 or 5 draft picks and 2 to 4 of our good players. Our luck he would tear a ACL in the first game. I think he already has done that one time already.

    • I'm not saying he should be working in the NFL. He did deserve some criticism as DC there. But Kyle Shanahan certainly did use him as a convenient scapegoat. Now there is no one left to throw under the bus. Anyways he could find his way back to the league in some capacity who knows. But he's old school and in the NFL you either adjust or you get left behind. All the same no hard feelings toward him he's a good guy.
    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
