Watching the Seahawks here in Seattle on the decline ever since Wilson got paid.

Team can no longer afford to surround him with the talent he once had in large part due to the record setting contract he signed a few years ago.

Now Wilson is complaining about a lack of talent around him.

Team has given up multiple high round draft picks to "win now".

Does Wilson even see the irony?

Doubt it.

They also haven’t been drafting well at all.

Tom Brady could have been the top paid player in the NFL for the last two decades if he chose to be.

Instead, Tom chose a different strategy, because he wanted to win championships over "getting paid".

Taking on another team's massive QB contract and giving up multiple high draft picks in the process will likely prevent the Panthers from fielding a competitive roster.

That's not a given at all, the player is worth paying for and trading for, will elevate the offensive talent we have, and we already have stars to build around on defense, we need depth and a better oline which the draft and free agency upcoming can provide. Marty Hurney has done a number on us

A superstar QB is well within his right to sign a contract that's offered to him by an organization to secure his future, it's not his job to worry about roster building and, he's a player not a scout, and he has to secure his bag. He's well within his rights to make demands since other QBs are doing the same thing, and he even has a ring to boot. I'm not seeing how he can be blamed for their poor offensive line talent at all, again, that falls on the organization, and it can't be held against an athlete to be paid what they demand. Sheesh

His contract isn't the reason they overdraft players and depend on him to make their poor offensive line choices look better because he's an elite QB who's mobile. This sounds jealousy that a guy can make demands where he works and make a lot of money doing what he loves, that's not his fault that's capitalism dictating he can be paid millions for his services. Yikes

The winning NFL template has been out there for the last two decades.

Well coached organization that doesn't dedicate too much cap to any one player, allows for a well balanced team capable of winning championships.  More often than not, has more draft picks than they were originally allotted.

The Herschel Walker/Ricky Williams approach to football is a recipe for disaster.

Never said a player wasn't "well within his right" to get paid.

Just don't expect to be surrounded by talented players as long as the NFL has a cap.

That's not what's gonna happen with Deshaun. Houston might get a few firsts (which leaves the rest of your picks and free agency lol) and a player but they likely aren't getting entire draft classes

You absolutely can if you are well run, like the past few SB Champs. Players aren't gonna be turning down deals bc they're worried about acquiring other talent, not when it's the organizations job to do that anyway. Wilson got paid and they haven't drafted well since, plus they lost their best players who were hall of famers.

Plus, there's a ton of teams that are bad with a qb and surrounded with good talent, look at Teddy and Drew Lock, David Carr,

The Seahawks overdraft players a round early every year, that's why they are struggling now and their star QB wants to exercise his power. He absolutely can expect the organization to do their jobs and surround him with talent and make good decisions. That's the expectation for star quarterbacks and it should be.

Seattle gave Wilson a record breaking contract.  While Wilson is a great QB (A fact many Panther fans refuse to acknowledge) Seahawks reaching the Super Bowl twice was in large part due to a dominant defense and running attack.  Today, Seahawks have neither and that is in large part to misallocation of assets (money) forcing them to go cheap in areas of need.
