New TV deals

From the Athletic

How much of a percentage increase from the last rights deal will the NFL ultimately land?

It’s hard to put a percentage on it because ESPN is such a wild card, and frankly, Amazon is such a wild card. I would be throwing a dart blindfolded giving you a number. But I can tell you that of the major TV packages, CBS, NBC, Fox and ESPN, I expect all of them to be at or over $2 billion annually. For NBC, CBS and Fox — and this has been reported by others — that’s a 100 percent increase. That’s double the money that they’re paying, and that’s on an average annual basis.

Cap space won't be a problem at least for a couple of years for any team once all the TV deals are approved.  Fans or no fans

I don't think the new deals take effect until 2022 or 2023, so we will likely still be light on the cap next offseason, as well.

I am assuming 100% capacity in the fall and even then I would believe it probably simply rises back up to the level it was before this year.

I am also okay with the cap being lower next year, because the Saints will remain in cap hell.

We have 120 Million available in cap space next year (pending Shaq and Teddy cuts) if the cap stays at 184Million between the two years, thats ignoring the fact stadiums WILL be full this year with the vaccinated.

This is not really for just the Panthers but for the entire NFL.  In about 3 years those 40million  a year QB contracts are going to be very cheap.  We should sign all the players we think are the core of the team as soon as we can for as long as we can.

Disney was baulking hard at those prices.

But seems they are close to a deal.

The deal has not been signed yet, but it is expected to come with a price tag between $2.4 and $2.6 billion per year. The earlier report indicated the league was looking for as much as $3.5 billion and the previous deal called for Disney to pay $2 billion a year for media rights
