If You're Going To The Game Or Know Somebody Who Is, Can You Do Me A Favor...

If you think really think fans booing are only at the players then for execution of bad plays, then I think you might want to retract your statement about ignorance. If you can find a fanbase that hasn't booed their team at some point, then more power to you.

Not saying people haven't done it. Anyone who watched Carr play in 2007 heard plenty of it. Same with Jake this year. My point is that anyone who thinks it is necessary to inform the team or coaches about how bad they are playing as if they didn't know already is an ignorant concept. Players know when they screw up, coaches know when they are doing a poor job, all they have to do is look at the scoreboard. And booing them won't make them play better.

I really don't care whether folks boo or not. Fans who pay their way into the game can act however they want within the bounds of not infringing on the rights of others.

I am just commenting that it isn't passionate or needed. But I also recognize that when you put 60,000 intoxicated fans in one place watching guys dressed up in uniforms trying to hurt one another, you could do alot worse than booing.

In all seriousness, how is a fanbase supposed to voice their displeasure?

People are spending their hard earned money (many who have spent thousands on psls) and taking time out of their weekends/family and every other year they it seems are getting a sh*tty product in return.

Shoud fans stop going to the games, boo a bad performance to let their views be known, or just sit back a continue clapping on the few opportunities that the team gives you while spending their money on something that is not giving back fair value in return?

I know Philly takes booing to a whole new (and ridiculous) level, but to sit there and continue to give your support to something that continuously doesn't give you much in return doesn't make sense to me nor make you a better fan than the guy that is pissed off at throwing his money away and wanting to voice his opinion.

As someone who lived outside of Philly for decades, I have heard my share of boobirds and totally understand where folks are coming from and don't blame them for doing it. And if fans want to show their displeasure they can boo, stay away, sell their tickets to the opposition, wear a bag over their head or whatever they want.

I don't have a problem with folks expressing their opinions at all. I just simply was clarifying that players and coaches don't need fan feedback like booing to figure out there is a problem. Secondly it probably does more harm than good since it likely inspires the other team more than our own. And lastly like in the case of Philly there is never anything positive associated with a fan base that doesn't support their team except when things are going well.

Do I think people who boo are worse fans than those that don't? Nah. I put them in the same category as the fans who start up the wave on offense.
