Their OL was better but his sack percentage in 2019 was 5.8% and it was 5.9% in 2020. His pressure percentage was 20% in 2019 and 19.8% in 2020. His bad throw percentage was 11.8% in 2019 and 13.0% in 2020. His completion percentage about expectation was +0.6 in 2019 and +2.3 in 2020.

So, in reality his performances in 2019 and 2020 were fairly similar, even with the better supporting cast in NO. They just had a team that was so good that it was able to win with him at QB. Hell, look at Taysom Hill going 3-1 with the Saints last year. We all know what a joke he is as a QB.

I agree Kung.  Teddy wasn't that bad.  I am going off what I watched.  The opposition team turn the heat up in the 4 quarter.  Plus again we were without a quality LT for 11 of 16 games with Okung and Little only started 3 games and played in 7 more then placed on IR.

This probably won't go over well either, but it is something I thought of...

If we were to draft Jones, whether it be at number 8 or after trading down, you could very well be looking at at least a two year commitment to him.

First year, he may not start at all or may only start a limited number of games. You wouldn't get a full read on him as a starter until next season.

And yeah, that could mean another year of Teddy Bridgewater sitting at the top of the depth chart.

I hope everyone feels very encouraged 😕

He wasn't very good and cost us the bulk of the victories in the second half of the season. He just isn't capable of being a full time starter in the NFL. Damn good backup guy but not a starter in the NFL.

Okung was very good when he played. Little was fuging awful. I am not sure why he hasn't just been cut yet.

There wouldn't be any real reason to start Teddy over him. He(Jones) is supposed to be a prospect that is "NFL ready." Put him out on the field so you can know after year one that he isn't that answer and move on.

I could see it going either way.

I really do think the team wants to go ahead and move on from Bridgewater if they can. I'm just not sure Jones would generate enough confidence for them to do that.

Mind you, if they took him at #8, that might be more likely than if he were taken after a trade down.

If Jones doesn't inspire the confidence to sit Teddy, then there is absolutely no reason to even select him. Jones is a prospect that isn't likely to get much better. Classic low ceiling, low floor player.

    • If I’m putting myself in a team’s shoes - you’re looking at these prospects and Warren hits most boxes for a TE with a plus on most. So yeah, he’s a great prospect, no doubt, 1st round talent as a TE. But when I look at him through the lens of that PSU offense, they were running so much through him, I’m not so sure it was beneficial to seeing how he translates.  They were getting him open in the flat, running weird trick plays, and designed a lot of ways to find him on delayed seam routes and such. So a lot was structured around getting him the ball in creative ways to advance the ball, in steady sequences, methodically down the field.  Thing is, yeah he’s catching a ton, is big, and can block, but throw him into an NFL offense in a more traditional sense, he’s gonna be stickied by speedy LBs and big nickels. I just wonder how he is in a more isolated fashion— when he’s just a piece of a greater NFL offense getting shadowed by more talented defenders. I think it could still be great but I have question marks when it’s at the TE position. Will he look no different than other very solid TEs or is he this offensive centerpiece at the position that doesn’t come along often (Bowers, Gronk, Kelce, Witten, TG, etc)? I think he brings a ton and could be one of the safer TE prospects, but what I’m unsure about is if you’re really getting this new age Witten type people are crowning him as. Even if that’s the case, is that worth it? If he wasn’t in PSU’s Franklin/Allar offense, would you be seeing the same output?  More questions than anything - I could get on board with it, but it’s hard for me to really project because of how that offense was (which was so frustrating at times).
    • Twitter sources, but supposedly the Rams want him. He might actually go Round 1.
    • You aren't going to ever get him out of the equation. As he has stated previously, he believes it his right to make the final call on decisions.
