Genuine question, what has Tua done that makes him more impressive than Jones?

People poo on Jones on here, yet think Tua's part of any Dolphins deal for Watson.

I forget who, but there was an analyst not long ago making an argument that as far as his final college season vs Tua's, Jones was actually better.

Me? Don't know.

I mean you just need to have watched them play to see that Jones had a better final season in College.

Tanking for Tua was dumb - and quite frankly I hope that they try to rectify that by trading for Watson.

It's already going to be difficult to re-sign Samuel. The cap hit involved with trading McCaffrey would make it damn near impossible.

Voth has pretty well established that McCaffrey is untradable so any speculation of a deal involving him isn't very realistic.

I think we could absolutely resign Curt as long as year one was team friendly.

Nothing. I'm just saying they have Tua to offer and they have the #3 overall pick guaranteeing at worst the 3rd QB off the board this year. They simply have more and better options to offer than we do.

Offer Shaq Thompson, Teddy Bridgewater and 3 first round picks. Don't offer something wild that will completely decimate us. We are the only NFC team (major plus) and are one of the only teams that Watson would agree to a trade. Think of it this way, would he agree to go to an already decimated Jets team after the fact that they trade away their entire future? Maybe, but I wouldn't come out way too aggressive if I am the Panthers, especially if Watson stays firm.

r/panthers - Uh... I want Watson as much as anyone else but that’s honestly too much 😂

This trade isn't as bad as it looks.  Yes, Anderson+Burns + 2 firsts is a lot, but that's probably at minimum what the Texans can fetch for a talent like Waston, and i'd rather movie Robbie than a third 1st rounder.  Moving CMC hurts because of his talent, but he is an RB that's getting paid -- never smart to do -- and most importantly is the price we pay to dump Two Yards in the process.  I'd pull the trigger in a second.

The differing opinions on this board make it a fun place to visit. Things are always lively here and most of the time we are all pretty civil to one another.

That said, I HATE this deal and would never consider it. Assuming Christian is healthy now, we'd be giving away 4 starters and two #1 picks in back to back years. Anderson was our leading receiver last year and when healthy Christian is arguably the most versatile back in the NFL. Teddy isn't great, but he can win games for you in this league. And, Burns is one of the best young pass rushers in the league. He had almost 1/3 of our sacks (9 out of a team total of 29). Sure, we'd have Watson, but outside of DJ, who is gonna throw it to? Who's gonna replace Burns sack total? Mike Davis is good, but is he who we want to build the running game around going forward?

Those guys would have to be replaced. It wouldn't so be bad if we were so deep that the answers were already on the roster. Unfortunstely, they're not. It's a lot harder to replace them or address other roster needs w/out 1st round draft choices in back to back years. If they said 2 #1 picks and Teddy...that's hard to turn down. But, I'm not giving away the other starters for a QB , despite being good, has had two ACL surgeries before age 26.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
