i love how king just randomly tosses in Robby Anderson, since as someone who only cares about the Jets and Giants thats a player he's heard of.

the Robby anderson piece makes no sense... why would they trade for a player with one year left on his contract? This isnt the NBA....

It's relatively good but we have 21 players under contract so that will get utilized as expected. The two teams with fewer players under contract have more cap space than us for 2022.

are you suggesting we would use 130 million in one off season to fill the roster and not extend DJ in the process?

The only idiotic takes in this thread are those that feel we should give up anything close to what the Peter King article suggested for Watson (or any combination of multiple 1st rd picks, starters from the Panthers roster, etc).

The Texans will want too much in return for Watson. This is not up for debate! Unless you want the Panthers to get taken to the cleaners with a horrific deal, move on from the idea Watson will be a Panther. Enough is enough.

Damn, Sizzlebuzz has an alt?

there are two ways to look at peter king saying this

1.) he's probably just bullshitting and trying to generate clicks. the guy mails in all his articles these days and has been coasting on his name for over a decade.

2.) he is one of the NFLs official mouth pieces. If he's saying something, then he's heard something or the NFL wants to start getting the idea out there.

I don’t see any of this  happening

if Miami is truly in the hunt, that’s it for the Panthers   More draft capital and players to offer   I’d take Tua over Teddy in two shakes of a rat’s ass

Florida’s tax situation is better than NC’s

I honestly can’t see a young man choosing Charlotte over Miami

.....and at the end of the day it’s his choice supposedly where he goes   If it’s Miami or Charlotte, it’s Miami

as much as Tepper may lust for him,  I suspect this love is unrequited and that’s probably in the Panthers best interest

    • Yep, even if you put aside any discussion about what you think about him as a player or how good he'll be, the one thing that is a 100% certainty is that he's going to make some plays that just drop your jaw and question how he did what we just saw. This is interesting as it was something I'd never even thought/heard of until he was walking on stage after we took him.  One of the analysts on NFL Network brought it up saying something like, "I don't agree with this idea, but I know a lot of college coaches tell the star WRs to purposefully take plays off when they know it's not coming to them" It was interesting because the way he said it, almost sounded like he's heard that it was something the Arizona coaches would tell T-Mac to do.  Which on a team like ours last year, actually makes a ton of sense, because we had NOBODY else who the defense had to worry about.  So instead of taking him off the field to give him a breather, just throw him out there on the far side of the field as a dummy to keep the defense's attention and then run a play in the other direction. You're right, he isn't "as quick" as Evans, because he's quicker.  Sure, Evans does use his body better than T-Mac does, but T-Mac is a better athlete with more wiggle to his game and better at making a defender miss whereas Evans is just more likely to run through you. And your edit here is basically just an add on to my above comment, as personally, I've used the AJ Green comp for him ever since his first game for us at Arizona, it was always who I saw in his game.  He has that fluidity that Green had to him, and at their size it stands out. Actually saw another comp last night that I hadn't seen before, and while I'll admit it's been YEARS since I've seen any film of him, my immediate reaction was, "oh wow, that might be a real solid comp for style of play" And that was of Plaxico Burress. I'd like to see T-Mac have a better overall career than Plax had (especially off the field), but from what I remember about his game, the comp for body/style of play actually seems pretty solid
    • Dan signed up shortly before he opened the pizza place, kind of did a little promotion on here to get panther fans to stop by. Several huddlers reported back to say they met Dan at the restaurant, and that he would hang out and talk football and that the food was good. (I thought it was average and kinda overpriced, he wasn’t there when I went). Since his interactions were going positively, he would post from time to time on topics and give a bit of his insight. Problem is it that was around 2009, the year after Jake melted down with the 6 TO game in the playoffs, and basically started the season with similar performances. Everyone was livid that Jake got an extension that offseason and the consensus of the fans was that it was time to see what Matt Moore had. Dan in one of the threads (and in an Interview on 610) said that what he had heard from the team is that Moore was struggling with the playbook and that why he wasn’t starting. People got mad about that and started saying things like oh that’s your concussions talking…and unsurprisingly he left (but without any sort of announcement, he just stopped posting). He probably wasn’t here for more than a month or two tops, the restaurant closed that following offseason.   Dragging the pizza joint didn’t really happen to my recollection until it was announced that he was the new GM and a few of the crazies (OP of this thread among them) equated his restaurant not succeeding to not being fit to be in charge of football operations. You know, typical huddle stuff.
