Recap:

1. Texans contract w/ DW is ironclad, he's locked up thru 2025.

2. There is no scenario where Texans are better off without DW vs. with him.

3. Texans have no obligation to trade DW.

4. Texans won't trade DW.

5. DW does not have the stones to walk from $146,540,000.

The End.

If/when the Texans end up trading Watson I'm gonna ban you for months of one dimensional poo posting.

I was expecting an actual report with inside sources.  Instead, just another opinion article. That said, maybe if more people talk about it in the media, it will help it come to fruition.

I don't mind losing some draft picks, but I really don't want to let any of our best players go.  I am now at the point where I am increasingly for either staying put at #8 or trading up to #5 to draft Lance.

• CAROLINA PANTHERS. I’d be surprised if the Panthers hadn’t made an offer by now, quite frankly. This is a fit in many ways. Very aggressive new owner (David Tepper), who would move mountains for a franchise QB. It’s not in the AFC, meaning Houston wouldn’t have to see Watson in the playoffs till the Super Bowl. (That would be a Belichick factor.) Because the Panthers are not flush with draft capital, I think they’d have to include a quarterback with some value and at least two very good veteran players. By the way: Cal McNair, I’m sure, would also love the fact that, if the NFL’s scheduling formula stays the same, Watson as a Panther would not play in Houston till the 2027 regular season. Cross-conference matchups happen every four years, meaning Carolina, which played at Houston in 2019, would host the Texans in 2023 and play at Houston in 2027. But that’s pretty low in the pecking order of factors in this trade. Very low.

Peter King Proposal: A 7-for-1 deal. Running back Christian McCaffrey, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, receiver Robbie Anderson and first-round and second-round picks in 2021 (eighth and 39th overall), a first-round pick in 2022 and third-round pick in 2023 in exchange for Watson. Houston might push for the inclusion of 22-year-old pass-rusher Brian Burns as a vital part of any deal, which would be a tough giveaway for coach Matt Rhule. Of course, McCaffrey would be tough too.

CMC AND Robby AND 2 1sts?  Oh HELLLLLLL no!  I want Watson at ALMOST any means necessary, but thats a bridge too far.  I guess we then resign Samuel to lessen the blow of that deal?

It's a purely speculative article. I honestly don't see them very interested in CMC and probably not Robby with just a year left on his deal. Not to mention, why in the world would they want to trade for Teddy's contract?

That just seemed like an excuse to get Panthers fans thinking about dumping a couple of bad contracts in Teddy and CMC. I would think the Texans, assuming they have any intelligence in the front office, would be way more interested in our players on rookie deals and our draft picks.

"I'd be surprised....."  equals BIG NEWS?

How about..."thread number 427 in 30 days on D Watson"

This would be more appropriate

At this rate, and it being a Monday, much more BIG NEWS is probably to follow as all the talking heads have to get their columns in.
