20-4-2: In his last 28 regular-season games with the Canes, James Reimer has posted a 20-4-2 record with a 2.71 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and three shutouts.

He's also...

8-2-0 this season with 3.08 goals against and a .896 save percentage. 0 shutouts.

Actually has a better win percentage than in their time frame. But, everything else looks worse. Everybody hates on Ned despite Optimus having worse numbers.

Statistically ya, if his sample size was 10 games instead of 4 though I think the stats would look a lot different.

Are they ever gonna call a high stick on Tampa Bay?

Said it after game 2, Tampa is treating this like a playoff series. They are playing like they know the refs have already swallowed their whistles. In a war of attrition the more physical team wins in the end.

Reimers numbers look virtually identical through his first 4 starts...

3-1-0

3.25 gaa

.899 sv%

Ned's first 4 for comparison...

2-2-0

2.00 gaa

.922 sv%

Reimer looks more comfortable out there. But, he should, he's a 10 year vet.

Ned looks nervous or unsure at times and that scares a lot of fans. In the playoffs, that can bleed into your teammates as well.

I think he will settle down eventually. But, his numbers shows he belongs in the big leagues.

I actually don't think I can recall Ned really looking nervous. He seems to be one of those perpetually calm guys. The scariest part about him is he is pretty confident in his puck handling and he does take some more chances that none of our other goalies would.
