S: Chinn, Franklin, Burris, Robinson, Hartsfield (played some S last season, I think ti could be pretty decent as is, very good with a stud)

CB:  Pride, Jackson, Thomas Oliver III, Elder (re-sign?)

That is not great, but could be decent.

He was horrible his first stint and worse this stint.

No idea why Hurndog signed him.

I think it was a lazy signing.

I think we can safely say our secondary carryovers will be Jackson, Pride, Elder (he surprised me), Burris, Chinn, & Franklin.  Don't know if Robinson will make the team year 2 but you never know.  A CB1 is clearly the need given our scheme.  We've got enough of these S/CB types that can interplay between this 3-3-5, 4-3 base w/3-4 looks thing we do.

I think Oliver has his work cut out for him.  He was baaad but also just a 7th rounder right? Can see him not making the team if we sign some pieces.

Good post.  I am with you.  I think Elder is a free agent, but he was good last year.

I think Corn could be brought back but I'm honestly not counting on it. Hoping for a big second season jump for Pride. He was pretty good for a mid-round rookie forced into a starting role.

He never saw the field--I was hoping he was developmental and would be decent, but you are right--we need a CB to play the #1 WR.

You're right on Elder! Probably why he was coming on strong this past year, he was essentially playing for his career.  I was really sour on him but he showed pretty well at times.

I feel exactly the same way--Corn raised his stock and if I were him, I would at least shop myself.

He did actually, we played him in like over a third of our games, more towards the end of the year.  There was one where the announcers kept thinking he was Pride and saying he was having a bad game.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
