I’m not advocating for this individual at all but how can Mac Jones get beat up on cause he plays with potential nfl players and that supposedly is the only reason he looks as good as he does but Lawrence doesn’t it ain’t like Trevor is playing with chopped liver at Clemson.

Take it a step further - why does no-one criticise Lance for playing on, what is essentially, a P5 team in the FCS?

I agree it’s  basically like he’s a grownup playing against his kids little league team. Watching some of his highlights of him running over 200 lb linebackers doesn’t enthuse me at all.
He tries that in the nfl and he’s out of the league faster than Johnny manziel. 

He has the greatest bust potential I think. He could turn out to be amazing but I think he’s at least 2years away.

He just haven’t played against competition like fields and Lawrence have.  
and the speed of the nfl game could have his head spinning for years if thrown into the fire too soon

If you re-watch the game, Wilson did not come up small, everyone else in BYU did. Wilson was throwing dimes his receivers were dropping, his line wasn't blocking, one of his receivers ran backwards 20 yards, his RB fumbled, and his defense couldn't keep Coastal's O off the field. 

Wilson marched the team down the field with less than a minute left, threw a strike on the best option on the last play and came up a yard short. Wilson looked fine all game.

Wilson has a good arm and some athleticism but he is getting overrated IMO.  He will bust if he goes to the Jets.  Id rather have Fields personally.

If he is who they say he is then he came up small . Stop the excuses he ain’t do enough . Just like mahomes in the super bowl n Rodgers in the afc championship . When it’s time to step up , you gotta step up . It was plays to be made n they weren’t made .

He made the plays available though...

I mean your example of Mahomes coming up short in the Super Bowl is a terrible example too. Mahomes was doing everything he could, his supporting cast didn't do jack. Receivers couldn't catch after he scrambled for 20 yards behind a line anchored by Mike Remmers. Mahomes literally threw a dime parallel to the ground that hit a receiver in the head near the endzone. 

Seriously, go the watch BYU/Coastal game again. Game script didn't allow him to throw again until midway through the 4th quarter, due to poor defense and coaches wanting to eat up clock by running (and fumbling) and even then his receivers did him no favors dropping great passes and literally running backwards 15-20 yards on a play. Complete drive killers.

Because people are basing everything on wishful thinking. They aren't critically analyzing or being honest about any of it.

People say this because he’s on Clemson’s roster and don’t actually look into his offensive personnel. 
 

This year on the offensive line he had one linemen who will be drafted this year. Also, MAYBE one more lineman who will be drafted in the NFL in the future. This is why Clemson lost like they did against Ohio State. Clemson Oline is straight garbage. This coming from a Clemson fan.

Clemson has absolutely no TE on offense. Definitely not going to the NFL.

Clemson also had two of its 5-star WRs injured all year. He had two WRs that will POSSIBLY be drafted. Amari Rodgers is a guarantee, but he’s probably a 3rd-5th rounder. Powell MIGHT get drafted. 
 

His best weapon was obviously ETN. 
 

Sure, he has some NFL talent around him, but not much. Especially when you compare him to who he had versus who Fields and Jones were surrounded by. Both Fields and Mac were surrounded by a ton of NFL weapons and lineman. 
 

Not saying Trevor didn’t have a decent supporting cast, but to insinuate that his greatness is because of his supporting cast is lazy. He did a lot more with a lot less versus a Fields and a Jones.

I didnt watch the CC game but looking at the stats of just one game is a tough way to judge a QB. If you just look at the stats from the Super Bowl you could say Mahomes choked in the biggest game. 0 TDs, 2 INTs and a 53 Rating. But he was under constant pressure and receivers were dropping balls. Im not advocating for or against Wilson just saying
