People need to stop thinking you need to suck to draft your next QB. Build a great team/foundation while constantly looking for the right fit. Russ Wilson was a 3rd rounder, Tom Brady 6th, Rodgers at the bottom of the 1st, Drew Brees 2nd rounder, Lamar Jackson bottom of the first, Watson was picked up at 12 (trade up), Mahomes at  10 (trade up), Dak was a 4th rounder. These franchises built a solid team which helped their new QBs succeed. We have the right staff and young pieces on offense and defense. Tanking to draft or thinking we can never get a good QB if we are average are proven to not be true. Next year’s first is fine to jump up and get our guy, but we need to keep building our team. We are far from a finished product and even if we don’t get a top QB, we can prepare our team for when the moment strikes to get one.

Why not. Young. Mobile. Firmer number one.  Wouldn’t be as expensive

could buy time as the Panthers address all the other needs.

I actually think this could be in the cards.. he looked niice in the MNF game when Carr pulled a groin

Exactly how I feel about it too. You need a supporting cast for any QB... Don't forget scheme either. Its a team sport.

Teddy Bridgewater, same thing in June 2020.

Let's pass on this one.

Don’t disagree

Marcus has talent and sometimes the system doesn’t suit the player or the coach doesn't suit the player as we saw with Tannehill

give me a choice of another year with Teddy or giving Marcus a chance and fill holes In the draft, I’d take Marcus

It just seems to me that the Panthers  have to gut their team to get one of the upper level veterans  and / or trade up in the draft

i hope they stay put and are able to get Lance but who knows. Still a long time to end of April

what I know is they  dont have an oline or a QB1 and it becomes chicken or egg.

I wish I had more faith in Rhule who approved Teddy coming here in the first place. Just tired of the Panthers acting like the player they wanted was thrust upon them

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
