That's the problem with the Watson stuff.

He wanted a say in the coaching staff. The flood gates are open now.

Aaron Rodgers has always had a say, that's why mike McCarthy got fired. Brady has always had a say, Rothesberger etc. Its a problem if Watson or Wilson want the same treatment?

Not quite true...

The Texans offered to let Watson be part of their coaching and GM search. He didn't ask for it.

It was a stupid idea, but they did it. Then they made it worse by not following through on their promise.

It’s not unheard of for players to have roster input. 

Reid said Mahomes had a big say in the  Chiefs 1st round pick last year.

Jay Cutler was involved in head coach interviews.

I know Cam had a hand in recruiting some FA signings.

The precedent is there. Wilson just wants to take it another step. 

Asking a guy "hey, what do you think" is fine.

Having them actually be part of the decision making, not so much.
