DROTY, Votes 42.5 Young to 4.5 Chinn

Chase Young is a better, more dominant player, more consistent player. Teams spent every week scheming to avoid or double and sometimes triple Young despite him being a rookie. There were a few weeks there where Chinn was getting abused.

Chinn was a steal. Young is still better right now and I’d prefer Young long term if we had both on the board at the same time.

Chinn hit the rookie wall right at the end of the season - he had a poor game against Washington. I questioned whether he was carrying an injury as he just looked 'off'.

He's an absolute tone setter though and is a corner piece of this defence - to stand out THAT much as a rookie says something. He was sensational at times, the best player on defence.

Agreed, it sucked that he had arguably his worst game against Washington and Young played well in that game.  If there was any doubt about DROY before then, that game sealed it.  I still love Chinn, though.  Kid is a baller and like Varking said, was an absolute steal where he was selected.  Seems like Young got better as the season went on and Chinn hit that rookie wall.  Oh well.

    • Cutting edge analysis below https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2025-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-4-0 You gotta remember, Daniel Jeremiah talks to the scouts and GMs..... Notable highlights: #1 Abdul Carter (Edge) #2 Travis Hunter (WR/CB) #3 Ashton Jeanty (RB) #4 Mason Graham (DT) #5:  Jalon Walker (LB) #6 Tyler Warren (TE) #7  Coltson Loveland (TE) #15 Nick Emannwori (S) #22 Mykel Williams (Edge) #32 Mason Taylor (TE--3 TEs in round 1????) WR rankings (oh my!!  This is going to piss some folks off--I don't think a slot WR--Egbuka--should be in the middle of round 1, personally) #16 Matthew Golden (told ya this a month ago!!--you mocked me, some scoffed) #17  Emeka Egbuka (the sleeper we have not talked about enough!) #18  Tetairoa McMillan (according to the NFL Network Path to the Draft Crew-Ross, Brooks, Charles-the comments may have hurt his stock among GMs--I do think it might be a bit overblown, but hey, he raised the red flag--nobody else.  I am sure he will explain his meaning to satisfy GMs) #33 Luther Burden III (he has dropped quite a bit) Noteable Edges NOT in top 50, which means they could be there in the second:  Jack Sawyer, Princely. and my super sleeper pick who could be there in round 3--Josaiah Stewart, Michigan. MHS PREDICTIONS: It sure looks like #5 Jalon Walker Edge will be the pick---Mykel Williams dropped to #22. Most of the players we draft on days 1 and 2 will have a first name that starts with the letter J.
    • I feel like all the guys i think they're going to take will be gone. Graham and walker plus Carter who has no chance. If that's the case I really hope someone wants to jump the saints and we can trade back. I would want Green if he didn't have the accusations
    • I think with walker you have a pretty stable and decent floor.   With some of the others the floor is lower but yeah the ceiling is the roof.   We just cant risk that as a franchise at this point
