So spoke an assistant coach to Steve Smith at the Pro Bowl when Smitty requested to practice with the receivers.

Who was that coach?

Well, he's got a new job now...

Well that was a dick move. I mean it's probably why Smith was a dick to everyone.

He may have been a jerk at times, but if we could bottle Smitty's mojo, we would be rich.

That kind of stuff made Smitty who he was....that chip on his shoulder carried him far!  He left it all out on the field and love him or hate him, he was a great receiver and was the type of player teams love.

Have to admit I kind of wonder why Culley took it so seriously.

It's the friggin' Pro Bowl.

He also took the HC job in Houston so questioning his mental faculties is on the table.

Everyone gets annoyed by a little, loud-mouthed dude who always talks about how great his skills are, brags about his accomplishments and tries to intimidate other people.

But you have to respect a smaller than average guy who says give me the chance to prove it, goes out on the field and gives 150% of what he claims and is intimidated by no one.

Steve's not mean, he's just an Alpha wolf who is undersized. He couldn't afford to not whoop a challenger, but he gave everything he had for his pack. And off the field, he's been a model citizen, a great dad and given back to the community many times over.

I've got nothing but respect for him and I hope to see him not just in our Ring of Honor but someday with a gold jacket.

He had 10 receptions for 154 yards that season. Why would he practice as a receiver in the Pro Bowl when he was named as a returner? I get that it motivated him and that's great but what would you expect?
