Upcoming NFL News, Awards and Retirements

Word it is that Peyton Manning has been told he made the Hall of Fame (I'm sure everyone was wondering if he'd make it).

Also some chatter that Drew Brees will be officially announcing the decision about his future next week, with the general expectation being that he's retiring. Said it before, but I really hope he enjoys his retirement, because I know I will

At the other end of the spectrum, Justin Herbert has been named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. No shock there either...

And lastly, I think we're all hoping to hear news that Sam Mills is finally getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. I know his family is hopeful. Scott Fowler actually wrote a pretty good article about that which you can see here (hopefully...pay wall)

Sam Mills!  Great news.

He'll go in as a Panther.  Saints board has complained about it for years, but they know.

Players who played for multiple teams don't go in representing a certain team. We already have several Hall of Famers who have played for us.

Speaking of news, I assume we're going to hire a defensive line coach sometime soon.

Rhule mentioned us having interviewed some people but I haven't seen jack about who or much else since.

I hope he goes in as a Panther, if he does go.  While most of his on field exploits were with the Saints, I think it's safe to say he had a much larger impact here.
