No. Let him walk or find a way to make him worth a 1st round pick or something. He doesn't even want to be here so I doubt we sign him long term, but if we tagged him again it would be like handcuffing the franchise for another year.

i an uncapped year -- HELL YEAH-

Set it up so we take the biggest hit in 2010 and make the last 4 years of the contract manageable.

tHE uncapped year could be a blessing for us.

I wonder though, because I read somewhere last year the Richardson played a big part in opting out of the bargaining agreement early.

I wonder if this is because he wants to "buy" his superbowl team before he dies?

Even if we did sign him to a long term contract, he'd still cause financial issues. I say let him go, sign a good FA and let Charles Johnson and Everette Brown have their shot. As awesome as our D has been here and there during the Fox era, way too much money has been tied up in the front four. If you're going to promise guys money and stick with them for the long haul...the least you can do is have back-to-back winning seasons.
