Breer addressed that, saying he thinks Stafford might want to go to a team in the west like San Francisco or Los Angeles, but doesn't think those teams are in position to make the best offer and Stafford doesn't really have leverage like a no trade clause or any such thing.

His leverage is threatening to retire.

Stafford has never had a solid team around him and save Megatron he's never really had as good of receivers as what we have currently.

Stafford can make all the throws and is a certified NFL QB.  If we aren't getting "our" guy in the draft and know that we can't afford Watson then I take Stafford and be extremely happy.

Unless it’s for a reasonable price I’m not really interested in Stafford. Bridgewater and a 2nd, maybe. But damn, if they give up a 1st for Stafford I’ll be really pissed.

Bridgewater and a 2nd would be awesome. I'd do that all day long. Unloading Bridgewater is like getting a mid-round pick back in return.

That's not great leverage though.

We've got his old QB coach, good players at the skill positions, a very popular young OC and we're believed to be trending in the right direction.

I don't really see Stafford having a problem with being traded here.

Two 2nds. That's my ceiling as a rebuilding team for a 33 year old QB.

That won't be enough. Which is why I hope we're not in the mix.

Breer said the Panthers are "solidly" in the mix, going as far as to predict that Stafford would probably end up either here or in Washington.

He also firmly believes the Lions will get a first rounder in return.

Putting those two things together, if we get him we're likely trading the number eight pick, maybe a little more.

If we do happen to get him, who would you guys want at our spot? Slater, Pitts, Parsons?

If we do get him we probably no longer have that spot. We're probably not drafting in the 1st this year. Then Detroit takes their #7 and our #8 and sends them to Miami for #2 and takes Zach Wilson.

    • You consistently contribute nothing here. I don't check the boards often lately but I can always count on your poo posts to bring the level of conversation down.

    • I’m not on here saying that he’s reached his final form or anything.  He has a lot more to prove if he is truly the QB1 for future.  Last week, he was OK.  Not good, not bad. but in general, he is trending significantly upward from where he was.     Baker is a good comparison for why it does not make sense to give up on Bryce.  The NFL is hard.    And people develop at different paces. I completely understand why that’s frustrating considering the trade but it’s all sunk cost now.    Just hope he turns into the best form he can.
