For the Carolina Panthers, it would be awesome to see him sit out 2021 and then the Texans be forced to trade him in 2022 offseason. In 2022 we should be in MUCH better shape to make a deal with them.

He really isn't going to sit out man...he would lose way too much money and that is money gone forever as he isn't looking for a bigger payday or anything.

This is where it gets fun. We have a good old fashioned wild west showdown.

This isn't in the least bit shocking.

In fact it would seem the majority of huddlers would be entirely shocked....

....literally nobody (well \, maybe myself and 2 others) believed the Texans had a choice in the matter -- at all.

Him sitting a year is a year where that's all that is talked about in regard to Houston.

The gun is to their head and they are acting like it's play time.

It's also a year that he forfeits $40,000,000 in pay not to mention all the other "benefits" of such...

...McNair and the Texans have the stack needed to sit at that poker table -- Deshaun does not.

Wouldn't it be something to watch Watson come out every game and play horribly on purpose? Like just come out and take a knee or throw an obvious interception.

What is to stop this from happening? You still have to pay the player if he shows up, correct?

Only a no-integrity person would do such a thing...

...are you suggesting Deshaun would even consider this?

For one thing it would also likely fall into the category of a federal crime for bribery/fixing a game, It would also be a career ender look what happened to a SB winning coach in Philly.

He is also just 25 years old. It would suck to lose that money but if he wants to leave and it becomes a standoff, I suspect he will sit out. He has YEARS of potential income ahead of him in the league.

I don't think this scenario is likely, however.
