There was a good article I read yesterday that said the specific reasons for Watson wanting the trade have not been stated and any team getting him would have to most likely understand and accept that something was going on and they’ll never know the full scope of it and this was the baggage they’d have to accept and hope they don’t piss him off in some way, which is true.

If I was a FO looking at Watson I’d want to know as well. Clearly he is this upset about something. Coach hires, trading his friend/best weapon. But NFL is a business and it’s rare you see a franchise QB leave like this. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever know the full details.

McNair has it...

...Deshaun doesn't.

In addition, McNair has proven to be somewhat irrational/unpredictable.

Anyone who completely discounts the possibility that McNair might call Deshaun's bluff is doing faulty analysis.

However, when emotions/tensions run high people often make rash/irrational decisions...

...McNair can afford to hold Deshaun accountable --- Deshaun cannot afford to sit out.

In my mind, both have a lot to lose by hard balling each other. No doubt there will be a little of that...but like I said before, it’s going to have to be a good deal and compromise for both of them. Which makes sense because there is no benefit for him staying for either party. 

The Texans will lose more being a dumpster fire than Deshaun will by sitting out a year or two. NFL teams will still want Deshaun Watson. Not many NFL players will want a part of the Houston Texans. Not many fans will want a part of the Houston Texans.

Like I said, McNair has plenty of money but if he wants to go to war, he will stand to lose the most.

in the grand scheme of things, jobs in the NFL are very rare, there will never be shortage of guys willing to fill those spots.

Yeah, the kind of guys that make terrible franchises stay terrible. If the Texans want to the the 1990's Bengals, they are more than welcome to it.

Winners don't go to dumpster fires. Burning one of the elite NFL QB's isn't going to get good players to your franchise. 

But, this is all theory. I suspect the Texans will blink in the next 3 months.
