I will quote Rhule and discuss his talking, but Id do not trust that guy.

I maybe the only one that isnt fully ready to move on form teddy. Contract makes it so and it is possible with a normal off-season, Teddy could get better. Yes he could get worse, but I dont see smart way to get away form him until 2022. Teddy also needs a decent TE and fully healthy CMC, just like any new QB that comes in.

Teddy has consistently always been the exact same dude.    He isn't going to get better.  His issues are in his QB DNA.

Teddy isn’t getting better. Many of us called this as soon as he signed. He’s not a second year player. He is who he is. He is an acceptable backup, very far from a starter.  Even without CMC last year he had more weapons than most QBs are afforded.

Rich Gannon got better at a late stage, Kurt Warner did too. Odds are not in Teddys favor, AT ALL. Mainly Im hoping he gets better, cause Id dont see a smart move to move on this year. The team needed TDs, CMC had 6 TDs in three games. I feel lots of the teddy hate, needs to be on CMC. It was a short weird convid offseason and Joe Brady never install a offense before. Teddy was new to carolina too, many reasons for his lack of play.

This... and I wanted Teddy to succeed b/c he was the Panthers QB.  He honestly looked like he could be the answer the 1st half of the season.

The 2nd half was truthfully no better than what Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke, etc. could provide.  Honestly, Heinicke probably would have beaten Teddy had he been the starter the whole game instead of Haskins.

Teddy had more weapons last year than Cam ever had here, and also had an offensive line, that while not great, certainly wasn't as bad as many of the ones we "protected" Cam with.

They picked Teddy b/c he knew the system.  And Teddy wasn't awful for the most part by any stretch.

But the truth is, and Rhule knows this along with most fans, QB's are ultimately judged by wins and losses, and for their ability to make it happen when the game is on the line.

Teddy had chances in the majority of games we played, and he couldn't do it.  He was the anthesis of clutch in many respects- in many ways the anti-Jake

Jake was not perfect, but it always seemed like before he messed up his elbow that he played his best in the 4th with the game on the line.  Jake could be shaky, but you had a confidence he could pull it together when it mattered.

Teddy really is the exact opposite.  He played his best ball when the game wasn't on the line.

I truly believe Teddy could be a playoff QB if we built around him and things generally went well.  But Teddy doesn't appear able to elevate the team, and he certainly doesn't look like a QB we can win a SB with.

Tepper & Rhule don't want to be stuck with a guy like that

No knows, but Matt Rhule let it slip Teddy was not the same since the second TB game, he missed one game too. I disagree with the notion, he can not play better.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
