It’s a pipe dream of getting Stafford or Watson , they don’t want to come to the panthers and I don’t blame them , they want big money and want to win they won’t find that here .

we won’t be getting Lawrence , fields or Wilson which is a blessing in disguise because I don’t see any of them as great nfl players . That brings the question of tre lance ?!

tre lance will be good or really bad , screw that we can’t take a risk man ,

this brings us to Mac jones which we will be lucky if he’s still available when we pick because he will shoot up the boards after a solid senior bowl , he’s smart , he’s tall , accurate and has a good deep ball . Bro we need a pocket passer something better than jake , I’m sick of these short passers and mobile qbs they never win , the people that win are pocket passers and that’s Mac jones .

tua went early because of his big games despite him having worse numbers than Mac jones and despite him being hurt , Mac bones is being underrated people why don’t you understand that ?

oh but beer Mac jones has all the weapons? Yes he does but so did tua but was devonta smith the headman with that bummer tua no? Dude this guy is a good passer .

It has already been reported that Watson would consider the Panthers, so...

I have a good feeling about Mac Jones. Not sure if I want to be the team that takes the risk, but I would definitely be kicking myself if he pans out.

Not going to say any names, but he reminds me of a poor mans version of a QB playing next Sunday.

I'm almost to the point where I don't trust many QBs from the typical college powerhouses. Obviously there's a few exceptions to the rule, but going from an elite OL, elite weapons who get 5+ yards of separation with regularity, elite running games, and elite defenses to a lack of essentially all of that creates one helluva learning curve.  Saw it with Tua this year, waiting on guys to get open instead of anticipating the throw. Some of the same with Jalen Hurts.  Their mobility helps...which Mac Jones has little to none of.

I just don't see a single thing about Mac Jones that's elite.  His accuracy is his best quality, but even with that, he's been throwing to Devonta Smith with 10 yards of separation instead of throwing to a WR who's yet to make a cut.  Could be great, sure, but it would be about the most milquetoast pick imaginable even in the 2nd.

Really gotta pay attention to the traits with the QBs coming from powerhouses. Lawrence has elite traits. He has a good arm, good mobility and athleticism, prototype size. It's obvious why he's an elite prospect. Fields has elite traits. He has the arm. He has the athleticism. He has good size. If he was more consistent he'd be locked in as the #2 QB. Jones just doesn't fit. He put up great stats. But when you single him out and specifically watch him instead if watching the game and the result, you're left pretty unimpressed. Pretty much everyone is in agreement that Trask isn't a very good NFL prospect but I'd bet money he would've out up very similar videogame stats.

He’s not athletic I get it neither is Brady , he is solid in the pocket and makes good decisions regardless how good his weapons on . He turned devonta smith from a first round pick to a heisman trophy winner . It’s not all devonta he throws receivers open and he is a pocket passer a true pocket passer .

I’m not trying to knock Mac Jones...honest question here...what traits/skills does he have that stand out from the pack?

Intelligent guy. Makes good decisions! Good size, strong arm, accurate--seemingly the quintessential pocket passer.

But, isn't nearly as mobile as today's younger franchise QBs. Questions about how he can handle defensive pressure because his pockets were pretty damned clean at Bama!

LOL!  Smith only came about 250 yards shy of Jones' passing totals in 2019 (1256 vs. 1503) and they both had 14 TDs. Smith was already putting up very good stats before Jones became the entrenched starter this year.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
