JStew for a Good Young QB? Hells to the Yes.

I still haven't decided who I like better, JStew or DeAngelo... I know that might sound crazy at this point but JStew has both speed and power. The only concern I have about JStew at the moment is that he appears to be injury prone.

I would trade either one for the right QB, but I don't see this happening unless Goodson proves he can contribute like a full-fledged member of double trouble.

Thats easy Dwill he is the closest RB to Barry Sanders (IMO best back in history next to Jim Brown) I have seen and unlike Sanders Dwill has a hell of a run blocking line. He could be special for years to come.

The only knock on DWill at this point is his age. He's 26 and will be 27 next season. 2nd year starting. Which isn't really a bad thing, plus he doesn't have many NFL miles. Stewart being here really helps keep him fresh. These 2 could extend their careers. Lets hope they see it the same way we do and they decide to stick with the team. If we could lock them both up then Deangelo will still be potently effective well into his 30's.

How can anyone call JStew injury prone? He's missed how many games? Please.

Ignorance is still the norm around here.

This thread is discussing trading Stewart. You don't think a prospective trading partner would be concerned that Stewart was physically unable to participate in either Summer camp or most daily practices in his Pro career?

Actually, I think the mere idea of someone suggesting that you can trade a good RB for a good QB in this league, is beyond ignorant. But Zod knows what he's doing ~ as you can see, it got to page 3 at 40 posts a page.

To answer your question though, any trading partner is going to be more interested in missed playing time, than practice.

Thank you for lowering your standards to participate.

We keep them both and have one of the most dominant run games anyone in the NFL has ever had for at least an 8-9 year stretch...
Agree..my problem with the Stewart trade scenario is that this team can't afford to take a hit in an area that is Championship caliber in order to roll the dice on a QB upgrade. There has to be another way to work it. Williams and Stewart are part of the equation in building a Super Bowl team. This team will continue to be a running team unless there is a total housecleaning. If it goes there, then go ahead and trade away. If not, keep the run personnel, they are the key to success with what we have.

That being said, Stewart is injury prone, has not participated in 2 training camps or very many weekly practices. You aren't going to approach the 13th pick we spent on him I believe. But with DWill, Stew is a luxury we can afford to give up for one we can't do without. A quality starting Quarter Back.

not to mention he fumbles on occasion

1. Deangelo is a perennial pro bowl feature back.

2. We have no QB.

3. Good RB's are much easier to draft than good QB's

4. Hurney/Fox would never have even drafted Stewart if they understood what they had in Deangelo.

5. Mike Goodson is a baller

This is exactly why rb's are not valued as much as other skill positions, especially QB. I'm not sure what type of young QB you may be referring to, but one with more than just potential would cost more than just Stewart straight up. And besides, I don't feel comfortable breaking up our best position on the team
