Panthers no longer lead the Odds for Watson and not in it for Stafford.

Draft wise.

We know Lawerence will go 1 and about as good of odds with QB going #2 as there are a Healthy Cam coming back here.

Detroit ahead of us already in the draft may be able to get a late 1 for Stafford along with their 2022 1 to jump and secure their QB at 3.

Tepper and them are sending out all this smoke etc that we are going to target a QB.  But we may be rolling the same guys out there this next season.

I really doubt we get a QB this year. Teddy two gloves will tank us another year. Best we can do is trade back and collect some draft capital. Then we will be a overall better team until we find our QB. That Washington game really hurt us.

If this year is what tanking looks like I hate to see what happens with a healthy CMC.  It just won't matter who is taking snaps for us next year, we're gonna be a game or two better just with a real offseason and CMC back.

Dane Brugler thinks Matt Rhule will find Mac Jones intriguing because of his intangibles. And it's worth remembering that Rhule attempted to recruit Jones to Baylor.

On the flipside, when he was asked what he looked for in a quarterback, new GM Scott Fitterer listed arm strength as one of his top characteristics.

Could be some discussion there...

Honestly not necessarily. We ended up with one of the easiest schedules in our division and next year because the Bucs won the conference we will play a harder schedule. Falcons will be better with a new coach and NO will probably be competitive. We do play the NFC East but I doubt they will be easier than this year so I see a similar finish. We really overachieved this year early on and I just don't think unless we have a new QB we do better.

I definitely could see that and Jones isn't a terrible pick although we definitely could trade down to get him.

Yeah, I saw one mock with us taking Jones with Lance still on the board and I literally, yes literally, lol'ed.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
