If you expect us to be good we're picking at the bottom of the rounds...this is not how you set up sustained success.

Draft the QB this year, avoid paying the premium QB money for 4-5 years as you get the 5th year option, and BUILD UP THE TEAM AROUND THE QB.

We are cash strapped till 2022, we can't afford to have TWO 20M+ QB's on the roster, what is wrong with you people!?

We could carry Stafford and Teddy for a year and then cut Teddy after the '21-22 season.

Not saying I am a proponent of this, but if we can't land a QB in the draft that we truly want and feel confident in I'd rather have Stafford than Teddy.

If we make a move for Stafford or Watson, Teddy's gotta go. We can designate him as a post-June 1st cut and save $8M against the cap. We don't need to spend $8M on a backup QB if we acquire a legit starter.

So since we won’t be able to get a QB at 8 because we won too many games, you would be happy with rolling with Teddy 2yds for another 5 wins and be in same spot. Sounds like a great idea SMH

Trading up for a QB is better than, 40 and a 1st for Stafford. How do you think KC got Mahomes, they traded up, PHI traded up for Wentz who was good til' the injuries hit. You don't trade for a QB with a 33M cap hit while also paying Teddy 20M+ and also having no future plan at QB because you JUST traded away a 2022 1st round pick.

That is idiotic. I suppose you don't want to keep the ONE good OL we have in Moton, let alone have cap / draft capital to devote to the OL.

I swear tg ya'll are mental.

Yeah I don’t think anybody will trade for him but he will be gone

Agree with you, I was just saying it was possible for 1 year.

If we even consider giving a first for Stafford, Fitterer instantly is Marty territory of hate for me. This is coming from someone who LOVES Stafford. The ONLY way I do this is if we somehow get his contract where he's costing us less than 20mil a year, which is not going to happen.

Stat Padford is the type of overpaid, career loser QB you pass on in a trade in favor of getting a four year rookie contract cheap QB.

Watson, on a HOF glide path with potentially ten or more prime years, that’s who you take over an unproven rookie every time.

I bet it’s that dunce Joe Brady pushing for Padford, though who am I kidding he probably is still a believer in Teddy 2Ys

Ah yes, an aging veteran on the wrong side of 30, with an injury history, and declining stats.

Worked out so well for us with Okung, and countless other players, why not give Stafford a try and sink the Franchise 3 years further into the "rebuilding" muck.

Hurney is that you?

I wonder how Jeremy Chinn ended up on our roster...

The interesting angle is that our new GM is from the team (Seahawks) who traded down with us to get more picks.  So who knows if we take on that trading down philosophy that Seattle has been known for. Hurney  tended to trade up, Seattle tended to trade down.

    • Morgan, Mills, Keuchley, Beason--all within the first 25 years of the team's existence--we have been spoiled by great MLB play.
    • Some people just want to get the attention of a celebrity and feel zero empathy for that player's feelings or personal space.  My dad was lifelong friends with some big names in football (Roman Gabriel, Dan Reeves) and baseball (Pete Rose and Tommy Helms of the Reds) and I learned very young that they are people doing a job and really want to be treated like everyone else.  So when I see a celebrity in public who is flying under the radar, I try not to bring attention to myself or them--I might wave if we make eye contact but that is about it.  Flashback In Washington DC (Georgetown) I was eating at a restaurant with my then fiance (she dumped me later--still hurts) and at the end of the dinner, I whispered to her, "Do not look back until we are getting up to leave, but do you know who has been sitting behind you for about 15 minutes?"  She said, "No.  Who?"  I stood to leave, so she turned around while picking up her purse, saw him, and turned back around to look at me with a shocked facial expression.  It was Billy Crystal.  I put my finger over my lips to keep her quiet, but she turned toward him and said, "You look Marvelous!! (one of his famous lines) and proceeded to tell him that her favorite movie is The Princess Bride, a film Crystal had a small part in as Miracle Max.  Grabbing her upper arms from behind, I looked at Crystal sympathetically and he cracked a faint grin--and I gently pulled her toward the exit.  She was mad at me for not telling her sooner and said that I embarrassed her by pulling her away.  I told her "You had already embarrassed yourself.  I was just doing some damage control."  I knew that she had exposed him, and how much he was valuing his anonymity until she sounded the trumpets.
    • I remember that game, vividly. I dare argue 2003 was the most talent stacked team our franchise has ever seen. HOF level talent: Dan, Peppers, Jenkins, Steve. Undeniable. Think about it. He had the chance to be the MVP of the Cinderella team that took down the goat in his prime.   I don’t want to derail the original topic, but some fans just are too young to appreciate the caliber player Dan was.  I hope some of the younger fans have watched some his game tape.  If there is anyone who can spot a baller from a mile away, it’s Dan.  There’s no questioning what this franchise means to him
