Winning culture fuged us so hard. We aren't even getting lance now. Its basically Deshaun or bust.

Or you can put big boy pants on and realize the QB spot might not be fixed in one season and that may be the reason most teams don’t have a franchise qb.

not me, not even close. watson is ten years as the franchise, stafford may be two or three. we'd have to think about drafting his replacement as early as the 2022 draft.

I'll happily take him but he's my third option behind watson and drafting a guy.

yeah i feel you on that.  i guess it depends on how quick we could win. If we could be contenders with him still in his window of capability then i say go for it and groom a guy behind him. (talking about stafford)

I want Watson too, for talent and age.. all the obvious reasons..

but sshit dude we are gunna have to sell the farm. and that could be worth it, not poopooing that idea in of itself..

but i could also see a scenario where we use those assets that we would give up to get watson to  keep them and win sooner with Stafford and still reach the end goal which is a championship within the next 4-5 years..  and in that span grooming a young QB behind him for that sustained success

Rhule's explanation for playing the starters against the WFT was that he wanted to teach the players how to win in December. It was a great learning opportunity in his mind and especially for the younger players.

Thanks to that win we will now likely end up watching the QBs with the best potential be snapped up right in front of us. I just hope those QBs end up being busts, otherwise that WFT win will become legendary and not in a good way.

Why would anyone trade for Stafford ahead of the draft unless they were getting him for very little? The QB market is/will be flooded with guys who haven't worked out with their team then you add in the upcoming draft. Especially anyone within reach of the top QB's in the draft should wait it out I'd think.

another bonus to stafford:

Getting him would allow us to continue to build towards a championship while also giving us more time to find the long term franchise QB if we feel like the options aren't that great this year/ we miss out on that guy.

Allows us to compete at a high level while alleviating the need to reach on a "meh" QB.

We could win a SB with Stafford.

because some of the middle teams, such as Pittsburg, Indy, San Fran, and Pats aren't really in position to draft one of the top QBs

If you are an above average team that thinks they are a better QB away from being a really good team what gives them a better chance? using their 1st on Stafford or Trask?

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
