Best Offer - Last Chance

While we have no idea if or when the Texans or Lions trade Watson and Stafford, let’s pretend their front offices reached out and asked for our best offer as they want to make a deal now before the draft. No ability for back and forth negotiating or counter offers. So you can’t low ball and later meet in the middle.

So what is your final offer?

Watson - ‘21 1st, ‘22 1st, DJ Moore, Teddy

I realize a lot of people will quickly say “why would u trade away your best WR if you are trading for a Qb”. This draft has some good WRs and I think we’d still be able to resign Samuel. At the end of the day, everybody is saying CMC, but due to his contract and position, I could see them preferring DJ.

Stafford - ‘21 2nd, ‘22 2nd, Teddy

Teddy has zero trade value.  ZERO.

Watson - #8, '21 1st rounder, and CMC. I say CMC because I think the Texans would highly value some star power in return for Watson. Their fanbase is gonna be PISSED. They'd need a new face of the franchise and CMC would give them that. A DJ Moore or Brian Burns wouldn't bring that same star power.

Stafford - #39 and next year's 2nd. I'd be willing to sweeten the pot a tad with an additional mid-rounder if necessary. I just can't justify parting with a 1st for a 33 year old QB. The issue is that a team more in "win now" mode very well may be. I'm looking at the Niners as a strong possibility here.  The Rams could potentially low key be a player here too. Goff just isn't that guy and I think they're probably to the point of accepting that.

KB jersey still hanging in my closet... Oof

I still think dude would've been a stud had that ACL not happened. By all reports he was the best looking player on the field that training camp, including that the joint practices. Ultimately with the seemingly obvious work ethic issues I don't think his success would've lasted, but I could definitely envision a David Boston type brief greatness from him.

I also have a Jason Avant jersey... Shortest tenured Panther's jersey I have for sure. But at least this one made some sense as I got it for $10 after he was released. I always liked him as a player and thought it was cool to have him on the Panthers, as brief and unproductive as it was.

    • I'm not saying he should be working in the NFL. He did deserve some criticism as DC there. But Kyle Shanahan certainly did use him as a convenient scapegoat. Now there is no one left to throw under the bus. Anyways he could find his way back to the league in some capacity who knows. But he's old school and in the NFL you either adjust or you get left behind. All the same no hard feelings toward him he's a good guy.
    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
