Dan Morgan?

Possible.

The Jaguars just let go of a former Seahawks co-worker in John Idzik. He could be a front office option as well.

Idzik's been a general manager before, though from what I've read it sounds like he's better at the cap management side of things than the personnel part (and we've got people for that).

Yeah but not many employees have the sack to take that tact with a potential employer. You get a lot of deferential behavior and BS. Some of those types want a yes man.

That is why I generally go into most interviews not caring much or viewing it as what they have to offer me, rather than what I need to do to work there.

You'd be surprised how often that is successful. And, typically, the places it isn't aren't usually places I want to work anyway.

100% if your employer cannot take a joke then its not the work environment you want to get into.

I did this to at my last job interview. I HATE typical interview questions - yet I do get their importance. They asked the typical "what is your biggest weakness?" question. I responded, rolling my eyes and said "I work too hard, care too much and sometimes can be too invested in my job" Took a second for them to realized I was joking but basically from that point on I knew I nailed it

Good way to judge how your interview is going if you're brave enough...

Tell a joke and everybody laughs? You're good.

Tell a joke and nobody laughs? You should probably just pack your stuff up and go.

I would add that I agree with you about generic interview questions. Makes me think the person doing the interview has no idea what they're doing. And how are you going to judge whether I have a specific job skill by asking about a time I overcame a conflict?

I’m happy to hear that. Tepper is (probably) a massive f*cking asshole. You don’t make billions being a nice guy. A guy with as big a personality as Tepper needs a guy running his team that will tell him to leave them alone and let them work. They are football professionals and that’s why Tepper hired them. Tepper is a football fan, that owns a team. Plain and simple.
