Rapoport: Panthers expected to be in the mix for Watson.

If we were to make a move for Watson, would that make keeping Moton impossible? I know Watson's cap hit isn't as large until 2022, but 10mil is still a good chunk of money when you're operating with limited cap space.

From a dead money vs cap savings standpoint, Paradis seems like he’d be a strong candidate. However, we’d then have 4 spots to fill on the OL assuming Moton gets the tag. That’s too many spots to fill in one offseason. Although you could look to fill that spot with a cheaper option.

This off-season is a big one for this organization.

  Paradis and his contract is already “split” because of voidable years. Even if he stays, 1.8M(of his remaining 5.4M dead cap hit) would come off this year, then the team would still have 3.6M to account for next year. Same if the designate a June 1 or wait until after then to cut him. Only way they would eat all 5.4M next year, is if they trade him before June 1

all players take it personally when things don't end on their terms, that is human nature.

This idea that Cam had this major influence on other players, especially in free agency, was always over played by this fan base.

Players want to get paid, they want to win, and they want to live in a nice area.

Yea but in this case I’m referring to someone who calls Cam his mentor.

Would bump this up if Watson still was in the early part of his rookie deal, that 35 mill and 39 mill in 2023 hurts. Even with it being the going rate, but this issue is panthers would be a paying IR'd player 35+ for two years.

The malcontented Watson and the Texans were 4-12 this year. However, a lot of people in this group seem to think we can wreck our rebuild for many years to obtain him and he will perform some type magic that would instantly make us Super Bowl contenders. The supposed price to get him would not be worth the reward in my opinion.
